Sculptra, because I needed to see myself in the mirror again!

Sculptra, because I needed to see myself in the mirror again!

WORTH IT$1,400
I lost about 15 lbs. in the last 3 years. First, my son was deployed.. he’s in the Army, infantry unit no less, then I bought a house, and then both my parents fell ill. In other words, I had been through a lot, and you could tell!! The compliments on my appearance, and looking young for my age stopped, completely! I’ll be 45 in October, and I looked good my entire life. Now, all of a sudden I looked like a frail of woman, and I was sad. I love and take care of my family every day, but it’s distressing to look at pictures from just 3 years ago, and see a different person than I see in the mirror. However, when I would get ordinary fillers, I’d be happy for about 3 weeks, no matter of much product I used! I decided it was time to try Sculptra. First, I had a session done on my cheeks.. loved it, it lasted, and my cheeks looked great. But, the doctor who performed the Sculptra, only did cheeks. Yesterday, I went to another doctor that I had previous positive experience with. I had my jaw line, temples, and lower face done using two more vials. I’m only one day out, and I know I’m still swollen, but I have to say that it was real nice to see MYSELF again in the mirror this morning!

You’re welcome !!!! Thanks for responding so quickly, I’m in the Philadelphia suburbs and have the same issue you had, my lower face has lost volume, I was considering sculptra or Bellafil but it looks like sculptra is the way to go. Hope your results last a long time

No problem! And I’ll keep updating as the months go on. I actually went to my dermatologist in the beginning hoping to get bellafil because of how long it lasts, and he thought that Sculptra would be better for the amount of volume loss that I was trying to correct. I’m definitely tempted by the idea of a permanent filler, but they said something like you get more bang for your buck from Sculptra. Thank you so much for the well wishes, and please let me know what you decide on, and how it goes. I’m rooting for you as well:) We have to stick together as patients and customers, because as I’ve learned through trial and error, you can’t always believe everything you hear. Even if you have a great doctor, they may be giving you a general idea about something from what companies who are promoting the stuff tell them. But I’d rather hear from a real person whose experiencing the same thing as me:)

Haw you gone to many other doctors?

I have scultra injections twice already and it's been 2 weeks since the last treatment. I started noticing my skin more sagging around the jaw line than before. Did you experience anything like that?
May 31, 2019
No, I haven’t, but my jawline was a mess pre- sculptra

You look great. I tried Sculptra because Radiesse was no longer working. I'm in great shape, have worked out for decades, and also metabolize fillers quickly. They would be gone in a few weeks. I tried four vials of Sculptra - one a month. Nothing. I ended up getting fat transfer and I've lost some of that as well, which I expected. They always inject more. I wish I had gotten your results from Sculptra.

Thank you so much, and I’m so sorry that Sculptra didn’t work well for you. As far as being.a fast metabolized... isn’t it the worst??? You pay hard earned money or worse charge it, and have to pay even more, for a treatment that was basically a waste!!! I went through thousands on volumes, radiesse, you name it... I tried it! Even worse, I had a treatment called infini rf done for necklace lines and under my chin, to make it tighter, and it destroyed all of the “ Good fat,” and I wound up with a turkey neck, looking 15 years older. I was embarrassed to go out for two years. Sculptra is very injector dependent, so I hope that your treatment was done right, because for me... it’s been nothing short of miraculous, and like I said, I’ve been let down so many times! Please keep me updated on your fat transfer. I wish you well

You look great but I have to be honest, you looked great before. Yes you look a bit younger but there was nothing wrong with your face that I could tell. As long as it makes you feel better about yourself -great! I can tell you that by the time you reach my age in the early 60's, it's devastating the transformation on your face. I first tried fillers this year. Lasted about a month and only did it on the lower section of my face. I too got compliments on looking young for my age but not anymore. That's gone so I've had to adjust to looking older and finding something ok about that. Still working on that-ha!

Thank you

What you said resonated with me. I am approaching 70. and was last carded in a bar at age 39. There has to be some acceptance of the aging process. My temples are hollow and my hair is thinning so its hard to hide but I'm not going to hide. I was widowed at age 58 and have no desire to remarry so maybe that is part of my acceptance. I wish you well. I have a low platelet count and bruise a the drop of a hat so if I had this procedure I would probably look like I'ld been in a boxing match.lol

I LOVE my doctor

IzzyandLumen
Now it’s 2 days after my appointment. I feel like buying clothes again. I don’t know if everyone understands, it’s not just vanity. I put my family first. I just really missed the girl I used to see, and at 45, I’m not yet ready to give her up. I really feel like I aged 10 years, in two. I know Sculptra is a process, but if what I see now, is what I can expect to see from Sculptra, I am beyond thrilled. Thank you Dr. Hess

Thank you so very very much. As a woman, sometimes I can really judge my appearance harshly! I’m happy to look a little less haggard at least!
