My Sculpsure Journey After MM

My Sculpsure Journey After MM

WORTH IT
After having a mm in July of 2017, I have noticed a little extra fat in some areas that I didn’t really notice before. I have the opportunity to do something about it now and I’m hoping it all works out!!! I’m so excited to have this done!! I hope it happens for me.
I have gone to 1 consultation in my area and was so excited and hopeful. Unfortunately, the provider did not feel comfortable doing anything on me because of my tattoos and scars from the mm. As upset and disappointed as I was, I understood and was grateful that if she didn’t feel comfortable working on me that she told me up front. I had kind of given up on having the procedure done but decided to research more and found that many providers do this procedure over tattoos and scars with great results. Maybe it just comes with more experience!?! So, I have made another appt with a different provider that I have been referred to and I hope she has enough experience to feel comfortable doing my procedure. If not, I will take that as a sign that I shouldn’t have this done and move on. I will keep you all updated on my Sculpsure journey!!!I received this complimentary treatment through the RealFriends program.

Looks your day is coming up soon! You must be excited! Have you thought about what other areas you may want to have treated if they can’t work over your tattoo? I just paid to have my upper arms done (a different provider). Second to my abs this is my other problem (i.e. flabby arms) area. Lol.

I got plenty of fatty areas, lol. I’ll probably ask about my hips and lower back area if they can’t do over my tattoo. Would love to have some thigh gap but they are a little saggy to begin with so not sure I want to risk them getting saggier:(

Yes I had the same concerns about my upper arms - that they might get flabbier. However a number of PS in the Q&A have said the sculpsure helped tighten them up. Not to mention what causes flabby arms is that excess fat. lol

I read that from the doctors too. I’ve also heard from ladies on here that their person that did the treatments said it would sag more. I guess I will ask when I go in. I wonder if it has to do with your age and if your skin has much elasticity in it already. I wonder.

I have seen one or two PS in the Q&A comment that it won’t tighten the skin. But my intuition tells me they may be saying it more as a disclaimer, since haven’t seen a PS that said their Sculpsure patients got flabbier. I also haven’t seen any reviews mentioning this. There’s another member with a review called “Flabby Upper Arms No More!”... that inspired me to give it a shot. (Link below). So I’m placing my bets on the skin tightening factor even at my age (63). Lol. I’ll keep you posted. :-)

UPDATED FROM md73
Day of treatment

Sculpsure consultation.......

User Avatar

and 1st treatment!!! Yes, you read that right. I had my consult and treatment the same day since I drove a little ways to get there. I thought it was going to be a 2 hr drive but it ended up only being about an hour and a half so that was nice. Ok, where to start. So I think I wrote on here before that I had a consultation but was unable to have it done because the Dr was not comfortable with my tattoos and scars. Well, this technician(she is a sonogram and MRI tech) started doing this in their office in Sept and she loves it. The Dr in the office asked her last year if she wanted to learn how to do it and she said “sure, why not!” Sara is the only one in the office that does it!! So I went yesterday!! She got my weight and had me fill out some paperwork with general medical history and that kind of stuff. She asked me where I would like to have Sculpsure done and of course I had a list a mile long for her, lol!! I told her I was mostly concerned with my right flank area since it is uneven compared to the left and I also told her I would love my hips done. I asked about the thighs and though she agreed that most people say there is a slight tightening effect we agreed it wasn’t worth the risk seeing how much loose skin I already have in the area. Since I have lost weight since surgery, the loose skin is a little worse.
She looked at my tattoo and said that she had to tell me there could be some discoloration in the tattoo. She said she has not had any of her patients tell her that but she has to say it. I told her I didn’t care that it was an old tattoo and needed more color put in it anyway, lol!!
Next she looked at my scars and where they are located and said that sometimes she just has to get creative with how she positions the paddles so that the scars aren’t in the paddles where the laser does it’s thing. She assured me that she could position them in a way to reach all the area I wanted and keep the scars out of the paddle and she did.
I had the treatment on my R flank first and had to lay kind of on my side a little and that was for the 25 min Then I stood up and she put the paddles on both hips and I had to lay on my belly with a towel rolled under my right hip to get the paddles to be in contact. She had to just use 1 paddle on the R as there wasn’t enough contact with my skin with both of them. So she just pulled more skin through in the 1 paddle. Hope that makes sense
I felt cold and cool, then warm and cool, warmer and cool, then finally very very warm, tingly, prickly then cool and that was it. It was never painful at all. Now, I am a talker, so I decided if I talked enough I probably wouldn’t notice it too much! So I talked almost nonstop to her while it was going during both treatments and it was fine. My skin was cool to touch when she took the paddles off
She said to massage 5-10 min every day until I come back. I could just massage for 2 weeks but the whole time would be better. So massage I have been doing!
Today I am sore when I press on it to massage but just like bruising sore nothing bad though. My skin is a little pink and that is normal too. I measured this morning so I can tell if there is really a difference when I’m all done. My hips at the area where she did the treatment are 36 1/2” and my low waist at my bb where they did my R flank is 32”
It was a great experience and I was so excited she was able to do it and felt confident that I would get good results!!!!
Can’t wait to go back on Aug 27th!!!!!

Thank you for the post. I'm interested in doing this. Or Vanquish. Can I ask why you chose this? T

Honestly, I had never heard of Sculpsure until I was given the opportunity to have 2 free treatments. Then after researching, I really liked the idea of it more and more. If it really works and can get rid of some of that stubborn fat that is left after my mm, then why not try it. It’s non invasive and not very painful so I thought it was worth a shot!!
July 18, 2018
How many times do you have to see them before you are officially "done".. I would be interested in my thighs .. but based on what you are saying....I could risk saggy skin?
User Avatar
July 18, 2018
I think the average is 2-3 treatments per area. I have not read anywhere that there is sagging as a side effect. I have read that lots of people have a slight(very slight) tightening effect but they can’t advertise that. Now that being said, I am just afraid for myself because I already have sagging that if they take fat out it might get worse. Again, I don’t know this but was not willing to risk it. I would say if your thighs don’t sag and you are fairly young then you probably wouldn’t have anything to worry about. I would just check with the provider and decide what’s best. I would love to have it done on my thighs though if I knew for sure they wouldn’t sag any more. Let me know what you decide!!!

UPDATED FROM md73
1 day post

2 days after treatment

So, this morning I was still a little sore to touch and a little pink and swollen but mostly on the left. I felt a little lump on L hip but I did my massages and it feels better tonight. Not much else to report about today just massaging and waiting for it to be 6 eeeks out do I can go back, lol!!!
My provider Sara called me today to check to see how I was doing. She said everything I have going on is totally normal. I am to stay hydrated, drinking plenty of water throughout the day and keep massaging for 5-10 min twice a day. I cannot take ibuprofen or any other anti inflammatory med for atleast a week as they want the inflammation to happen so it can help destroy the fat cells. Made perfect sense to me. Not much else going on. I took pics this morning to show my little pink spot on my hips and to try and show you all where I had the treatment. Hopefully you can see it ok.

Can you tell if you have any swelling? Mine is slight but I see it on my left where the tender area is.

Interesting that you’re still a little swollen. I didn’t experience any swelling, which I am wondering why? Seems like everyone experienced some degree of swelling and tenderness!?!? I hope that my body is reacting in some “other” sort of way. Lol.
