After having a mm in July of 2017, I have noticed a little extra fat in some areas that I didn’t really notice before. I have the opportunity to do something about it now and I’m hoping it all works out!!! I’m so excited to have this done!! I hope it happens for me. I have gone to 1 consultation in my area and was so excited and hopeful. Unfortunately, the provider did not feel comfortable doing anything on me because of my tattoos and scars from the mm. As upset and disappointed as I was, I understood and was grateful that if she didn’t feel comfortable working on me that she told me up front. I had kind of given up on having the procedure done but decided to research more and found that many providers do this procedure over tattoos and scars with great results. Maybe it just comes with more experience!?! So, I have made another appt with a different provider that I have been referred to and I hope she has enough experience to feel comfortable doing my procedure. If not, I will take that as a sign that I shouldn’t have this done and move on. I will keep you all updated on my Sculpsure journey!!!I received this complimentary treatment through the RealFriends program. Updated on 17 Jul 2018: and 1st treatment!!! Yes, you read that right. I had my consult and treatment the same day since I drove a little ways to get there. I thought it was going to be a 2 hr drive but it ended up only being about an hour and a half so that was nice. Ok, where to start. So I think I wrote on here before that I had a consultation but was unable to have it done because the Dr was not comfortable with my tattoos and scars. Well, this technician(she is a sonogram and MRI tech) started doing this in their office in Sept and she loves it. The Dr in the office asked her last year if she wanted to learn how to do it and she said “sure, why not!” Sara is the only one in the office that does it!! So I went yesterday!! She got my weight and had me fill out some paperwork with general medical history and that kind of stuff. She asked me where I would like to have Sculpsure done and of course I had a list a mile long for her, lol!! I told her I was mostly concerned with my right flank area since it is uneven compared to the left and I also told her I would love my hips done. I asked about the thighs and though she agreed that most people say there is a slight tightening effect we agreed it wasn’t worth the risk seeing how much loose skin I already have in the area. Since I have lost weight since surgery, the loose skin is a little worse. She looked at my tattoo and said that she had to tell me there could be some discoloration in the tattoo. She said she has not had any of her patients tell her that but she has to say it. I told her I didn’t care that it was an old tattoo and needed more color put in it anyway, lol!! Next she looked at my scars and where they are located and said that sometimes she just has to get creative with how she positions the paddles so that the scars aren’t in the paddles where the laser does it’s thing. She assured me that she could position them in a way to reach all the area I wanted and keep the scars out of the paddle and she did. I had the treatment on my R flank first and had to lay kind of on my side a little and that was for the 25 min Then I stood up and she put the paddles on both hips and I had to lay on my belly with a towel rolled under my right hip to get the paddles to be in contact. She had to just use 1 paddle on the R as there wasn’t enough contact with my skin with both of them. So she just pulled more skin through in the 1 paddle. Hope that makes sense I felt cold and cool, then warm and cool, warmer and cool, then finally very very warm, tingly, prickly then cool and that was it. It was never painful at all. Now, I am a talker, so I decided if I talked enough I probably wouldn’t notice it too much! So I talked almost nonstop to her while it was going during both treatments and it was fine. My skin was cool to touch when she took the paddles off She said to massage 5-10 min every day until I come back. I could just massage for 2 weeks but the whole time would be better. So massage I have been doing! Today I am sore when I press on it to massage but just like bruising sore nothing bad though. My skin is a little pink and that is normal too. I measured this morning so I can tell if there is really a difference when I’m all done. My hips at the area where she did the treatment are 36 1/2” and my low waist at my bb where they did my R flank is 32” It was a great experience and I was so excited she was able to do it and felt confident that I would get good results!!!! Can’t wait to go back on Aug 27th!!!!! Updated on 18 Jul 2018: So, this morning I was still a little sore to touch and a little pink and swollen but mostly on the left. I felt a little lump on L hip but I did my massages and it feels better tonight. Not much else to report about today just massaging and waiting for it to be 6 eeeks out do I can go back, lol!!! My provider Sara called me today to check to see how I was doing. She said everything I have going on is totally normal. I am to stay hydrated, drinking plenty of water throughout the day and keep massaging for 5-10 min twice a day. I cannot take ibuprofen or any other anti inflammatory med for atleast a week as they want the inflammation to happen so it can help destroy the fat cells. Made perfect sense to me. Not much else going on. I took pics this morning to show my little pink spot on my hips and to try and show you all where I had the treatment. Hopefully you can see it ok. Updated on 18 Jul 2018: Well crap, I just wrote a review and accidentally deleted it while I was trying to post pics. Anyway, short version: my provider called to check on me today. I told her I was doing well. I have a little swelling, a lump and pink spot on L hip; I also have soreness(like bruising) to touch more on L than R. I have been massaging for 5-10 min atleast twice a day and the lump feels better. Sara says this is all normal and to keep up the massages, drink plenty of water and do not take ibuprofen or othe anti inflammatory for atleast a week. Ice is fine but I haven’t needed that yet. I’ve posted pics so hopefully you can see where I marked the treatment areas. Updated on 18 Jul 2018: Tried to post an update twice. I will try again tomorrow Updated on 8 Aug 2018: was rescheduled for Sept 5th at 2:30 in the afternoon. Bummer but it’s all ok. My Sculpsure tech did everything she could to get me in ASAP. She had a conflict for that day and had to cancel and is now coming in to do it after her reg work shift. She is such a sweetheart to accommodate me with this. I have not measured in awhile so I am not sure if my measurements have changed any yet. I can’t see any difference with the naked eye but I’m still hopeful that after the 2nd session it will be a noticeable and wonderful change Updated on 6 Sep 2018: ...done!!!!! It went well. It seemed to be a little more uncomfortable this time and had a couple little cramps here and there but nothing bad at all! It wasn’t bad enough to stop me from talking the whole way through it though, lol!! She did my R flank and both hips like last time. She noticed I had less fat to pull up in the panels so that was a good sign. I have lost 5-6 lbs since my last treatment so that could have had a little bit to do with it,lol. So last night I was really sore on my R side especially. I have a rather large module on that hip but it feels a little smaller this morning than it did last night. Just trying to remember to massage 5-10 min twice a day and not take any ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. I forgot yesterday and put lotion on before I went to my appt. might be why it felt hotter than before. Anyway, that’s about it for this update!! Thanks ladies for stopping by!! Updated on 25 Sep 2018: ......second Sculpsure treatment!! So it’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t been as diligent on the massaging this time(shame on me). I have a very small nodule on my L hip that doesn’t seem to want to go away but it is getting smaller I think. I can see a slight difference but mostly I can tell in my pants. I think I can tell more of a difference on my hips rather than my R flank. It is still bigger than the L side:( I am posting some pics that I took a couple of days ago so I will have some on here to compare. I go back on Nov 19 for follow up and pics. Can’t wait to see if I can tell a difference with the before and afters!!!! Updated on 12 Dec 2018: ...official photos. So I had my first Sculpsure treatment back on July 17,2018 and had my 2nd treatment on Sept 5, 2018. I then went back for after photos on Nov 13,2018 which was 10 weeks after my last treatment (had to go in a couple weeks early because of an unexpected surgery). Anyway I have lost some weight since my 1st treatment and I’m not sure how much that affected my results but I know it wasn’t all weight loss. I really think I can tell a difference, especially in my hip area. My pant size has gone down atleast a size or 2 since the first treatment and that feels great!! All in all I think this procedure was worth it. I think it’s more subtle than a surgical procedure but for a non surgical procedure, that was for me very tolerable, I would say it is definitely worth persuing!! Thank you so much RS for giving me the opportunity to try this out and let people know my opinion. It was a great experience!!! Let me know what you ladies think. And be honest now girls!! Updated on 19 Dec 2018: So here are some more comparison pics! I took some at home because it’s been over a month since my last pics were taken at the Sculpsure place. Let’s see if we can tell a difference in these!!! I labeled them all R & L and put the date so hopefully that all shows up. Since I took the pics myself they are backwards from the ones Sarah took, lol
I would not be too concerned at this point. Most of our patients require 2 treatments to achieve their goals. We typically do the second treatment after 6 weeks. The fatty material from the destroyed fat cell is picked up by the lymphatic system. This is a slow process. Keep doing what you are doing.
