Upper Abdomen sticks out; not flat.

I had a standard No Drain Tummy Tuck on July 29, 2016. My body has had over three months of healing time. The lower and upper area where the cut was is just a little bit sore. I feel that my upper abdomen (a little above the belly button) looks the same as before I had the surgery. It also feels the same as it was before surgery. But my lower abdomen has flattened out nicely and the scar looks great. But my upper abdomen isn’t matching the flatness.
I was told it was still swollen, but it feels and looks the same as before the surgery. You can even tell the left side of the tummy and flanks is bigger than the right.
My understanding is when you get a standard Tummy Tuck, they also do the upper abdomen area so it will match. I’m just trying to get an opinion on it because it looks like nothing really happened to the upper half of my abdomen.
What do you think about my upper abdomen? How would I go about fixing it if I need to? Will just tickle lipo work for this if needed?
Thank you so much.

Did you have muscles repaired?

I did have muscles repaired, but it doesn't feel swollen. I was told that if you can't pinch the skin, it's swollen. But I can pinch it and it feels the same as it was before surgery. :(

How did things change in the back? I noticed you have one picture of your hips in the back at 6 weeks swollen. I'm six weeks and I think I have the same thing. Did you get lipo too?

Hi, I was wondering how does your tummy tuck look now? I had mine done and it's the same exact thing! Now a year later looking to do a revision! Not happy!

Oh really, so I'm not the only one? How long ago since you had your TT done?

I had mine done a week after you. I found comfort in your post as I was getting ready for my surgery. I go back to see Dr. On the 13th of December. Hopefully I have better results by then otherwise we will have to talk about somethings. When is your next appointment.

Aww thank you. I'm glad my post helped. I'm really glad I did the no drain though because I really don't think I would have been comfortable with a drain tube just hanging out of my body; I wanted to be up and around and I have my clumsy moments.

My appointment is tomorrow Nov 7th. I'll be asking again what is up with my upper abdomen.

Did you have standard TT? Would love to see pictures of your progress :)

Yes I had standard TT. Let me know how your visit goes and what he says. I'll try figure out how to get pics up. Thank you for sharing.

Well had my visit and told me that there may be some underlying fat there that they can't remove and also with the tightening of the muscles; the muscles may be pushing it out like that. But they said it isn't fluid which is good.

Well that's good! But is there something you can do regarding the upper abdomen? Would Wearing waist garment help at all? Thanks for sharing.

He said to keep dieting and exercising as that's all that can be done for now. I'm still wearing compression garments just because. It gives me a "sense" that it's "pushing" it in and to make myself believe that it keeps fat from settling, LOL :D

I had my surgery back in May and have had many of the issues that you and the other girls expressed here. But here's a new one, my hormones have gone crazy. My Estradiol (E1) increased which has caused my weight to go up 20lbs. I was in Rocky Point this past weekend and met a gal who had the same problems: upper ab bloat and weight gain. She also found out that she had a hormone imbalance too. Her and I have been receiving treatment for that but too early to say whether it works or not. Anyone else have hormone imbalance after surgery? Katie

So everything is going well still. I started road cycling last week which was nice on the feet. I wear a neoprene waist wrap during workouts to keep vibrations to a minimum.

Just a couple things I'm worried about. this bump that is circled green and the tiny hole that's circled orange.

The bump maybe a stitch trying to spit out and the hole could be a little tear in skin.. stop wearing the neoprene because it holds sweat which will cause moisture and bacteria around you incision... get some antibiotic ointment and put on it.. lay around the house with nothing covering and let it breath

Thank you for the explanation, much appreciated!

hmmmm... I'll try to find something else to minimize the vibrations . Thank you for the tips :)
