I have always wanted to fix the issues with my nose as far back as 4th grade. My mother had a nose job when I was growing up and I saw how much she gained from it and I wanted the same for me. When I was a teenager I had my nose broken. That fracture cause my nose to be crooked although most people say they couldn't really tell. When I went in for a consult with my surgeon he said that my nose was extremely deviated. So fracture repair. Septoplasty. And rhinoplasty to fix the other things I didn't love. This is what I needed. I also had Otoplasty done at the same time because I have large ears and wanted them to be less noticeable. I had my surgery just over a week ago. I am still healing. I am still scared and unsure if I will like my face now. I'm so swollen and I look so weird. But when I look just at my nose I see that he did a great job. I hope that when my swelling goes down I will be happy with the way everything looks.

Hi, last year I had a nose job with Dr Beals too and I love my nose. He gives the most natural looking noses! At my year post-op I mentioned getting my ears pinned back and he didn't seem too thrilled in the idea. I feel that I have large ears with a large point at the tops -- It's so embarrassing! I'm glad to hear your healing process was quick too. You look very beautiful in your final pics!!

Day Ten

So I tried to put on makeup for the firsts time today which didn't go super well. My skin is so dry and bruised that it's very caked. But it's better than nothing. I keep seeing how I could be very happy with the end result. I really can't wait to get these internal splints out because I feel and hope and believe that will make the difference for me. My nostrils just look too flared out still. Swelling is going down. Every day feeling a bit better.

You look good. My swelling has been way way way worse. My tip is soooo upturned and looks so short. I have not had the courage to go out yet! I have not eaten any salt at all since my surgery and progress is so slow. You look really good.

I feel the same as you!! I don't go out anywhere. My whole face is yellow where it's not purple from bruising which you can see in person. And yes, the upturn. It's so hard! Did you expect it to be this hard? All the pictures I see is girls with some bruising, bandages off, and their perfect faces. Ha I feel like a mess. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Which sounds selfish ha ha. But it's so hard going through this!

. Every PS says that you can be presentable after 10 days. I do not think so. I did not expected to feel the way I am feeling. Looking at me in the mirror and not seing myself is torture. Waiting is so long!!!!

Yes. I'm over ten days and I'm not presentable. Not at all. Apart from looking like I've been beaten, I still wouldn't go out with this nose. I can't wait until this part is over. And I already know if have a hard time telling someone they should get a nose job of they are unhappy. Because right now it's hard to see the light at the end. I hope there is a light!
April 13, 2015
Yes. I would not do this again. No matter the results, I would not recommend this to anybody. This waiting time is not fun at all. It is rather the opposite. Time seem to go so slow these days

What did it feel like when you woke up from surgery? Was it immediate pain?
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
Oh not at all. It was like someone waking me from A deep sleep and making me move. So mostly I was just in a hurry to get back to sleep. The most pain I had was with my ear pinning. And even that was easy to deal with. Keep in mind after the second day I couodnt take pain meds either other than plain tylenol because I had an allergic reaction to something. Soo long story long, pain is a nonissue in my opinion. The hardest part is seeing your face so beat up.

Oh okay thanks!! Yes my Dr said if I feel any pain it will be a slight head ache. I'm nervous for the pain and the getting put to sleep part. Never been through it before so I'm freaking out.

They come in and talk to you. They give you a volume or something before they even start the anesthesia part. And you will drift to sleep. You will make up in what feels like five minutes and be through. Been through it twice now and my friend just did it to. It's always the same. You'll see that if you have a good Dr. You'll have a good anesthesiologist. And you'll have a great sleep and no pain. I didn't even have a headache. Not a bit of pain.
