I've been overweight my entire life and decide to get in a shape and lose it all in my mid 20s. However, I had reached a peak of 300 lbs and as you can imagine that life a huge toll on my skin. After shedding the weight over a year and hitting 160 lbs, I was left disappointed because despite working so hard and losing all that weight my body looked worse than ever. My skin was hanging and wrinkled along my entire lower stomach. I kept the weight off for 2 years and tried everything I could to fix the damage through natural means.
Unfortunately, I realized it would never go away without surgery. I spent months researching tummy tuck procedures and doctors across google and realself. I heard amazing things about Dr. Repta and decided he'd be the first one I'd book a consultation with.
Setting the appointment was painless and the staff was incredible, Brooke was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond with any questions or requests I had and explaining the procedure before hand.
After the first minute of speaking with Dr. Repta I decided I didn't need any other consultations. He was very reassuring and answered all my questions. He took the time and explained everything about the operation and what I should expect as well as exactly how he would go about it. I felt so at ease and knew that I could trust him with a procedure this monumental that I decided to have Rhinoplasty with him as well during the same operation.
They were very thorough about my pre-op instructions along with the vitamins I'd need for optimal recovery. When the day of the surgery came everything was quick and painless and I was sent home soon after.
Obviously there was some minor discomfort from the surgery, but it was surprisingly minimal. I was given a drain which was removed in just over a week and a bind to keep the swelling to a minimum. I did have some fluid leak from the area of the drain, but Dr. Repta saw to it right away and quickly address the concern. He was always very prompt with answering my questions and was available for me to visit his office right away if need be. During the weekend he had staff on hand that would notify him of any issues or questions I had and I'd receive a call from Dr. Repta himself within the hour.
As of now it's been 5 months and the swelling is almost gone. The scar is still visible and I may have some hyperpigmentation, but I'm hoping that'll go away soon. Besides that my stomach looks amazing and I'm very happy with the results. The best part about all this is that even now after so much time has passed Dr. Repta still treats me like he did the first time I walked into his office, if I need a follow up or have a concern he's always willing to set an appointment to examine me and answer any questions in person. I'd recommend Dr. Repta to anyone as a very knowledgeable, friendly, ethical, and trustworthy plastic surgeon. He's a credit to his field and I know he deserves his reputation as one of the best surgeons around and as a leading expert in Tummy Tucks. If I ever have anything else I need taken care of, he'd be the only one I'd trust.
