For those of you interested in the cost ... the cost of the procedure included Dr. Shaw's fee, anesthesiologist and 2 nights stay in hospital.
Now age 55, I had been watching my jowls, neck and...
Now age 55, I had been watching my jowls, neck and eye hooding increase over time. I knew I would have a procedure ... the question was when and exactly what. After interviewing several plastic surgeons I decided on Dr. Shaw. Pre & post surgery Dr. Shaw and all of his staff have been top notch.
After having my initial confrontation I had more questions and Dr. Shaw's office was quick to have me in for another consult with the Dr. After re-arranging the procedure a bit, Dr. Shaw and I were both comfortable with my surgical plan.
Yes I was nervous -- we all just want to be on the other side of the procedure and 'healing.' Dr. Shaw saw me the day of surgery after I'd awakened, the following two days and then four more times over the next 8 days. I was always cared for and if I had questions I knew I'd be going to see him soon enough to have them answered!
Healing -- all I can say is that is an evolution and each person heals differently. It's a good day when the stitches and staples are totally removed. Fat transfers -- I didn't know how I'd feel about them -- 7 weeks out I am really happy with them! I hope they all just stay put.
I would have another procedure with Dr. Shaw in a heartbeat. But at this time, at least from a surgical standpoint, I promised myself that I would just let myself grow old (with my jumpstart!)
