56 Yo Post Massive Weight Loss Breast Lift PLUS Extended Brachioplasty - Scottsdale, AZ

In 2012 I embarked upon a journey to better health and longevity, starting with a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in April. In the two and one half years since, I've successfully shed and maintained a weight loss of 135 pounds. In January of this year I began considering plastic surgery to remove the sagging skin that had begun to feel rather like a "coat" reminding me of where I'd come from.

Over the course of the following 6 months, I researched, spoke with and met for face-to-face consults with a total of 5 Plastic Surgeons and 1 General Surgeon. Included in this count was a well known post weight loss PS from Monterey Mexico.

When I began my plastic surgery reshaping journey in Sept of last year, I knew then that recovery takes time. I also knew that while I had the absolute best surgeon, Dr. Remus Repta (www.drrepta.com), at least 50% of the outcome was up to me. I had to follow his instructions to the letter.

I had a recovery room set up at home that included a comfortable, easy to use recliner chair, side tables, a neck pillow, lots of reading material, even a bell to ring if I needed help.

By the end of week 3 post op I was back to driving and feeling pretty good. My Sept breast lift w/aug & arm lift were healing nicely. Dr. Repta recommends & I used Embrace Scar Therapy, a silicone scar covering that literally pulls both sides of the incision together thereby reducing the thickness of the scar to maybe pencil led width.

One day before my 4 weeks post op my husband returned to job as an airline pilot. While he was traveling to LAX, I developed a totally unexpected and extremely rare hematoma in my right breast.

It appears I ruptured a blood vessel at some point over previous weekend, and it continued bleeding until it became painfully noticeable to me. A friend got me to Dr. Repta's office (and got my husband to return home) where I was rushed into surgery by this amazing man once more. In his entire career he'd never experienced a hematoma at this point in a patients recovery. His expert and immediate care saved my life. Had I been an hour more getting to him, I wouldn't be here today! Again the clock started on the 6-week post BL recovery. With Dr. Repta checking my well being every week.

On 10 December it was on to phase two of my reshaping journey, and back to the talented Dr. Repta I went. This time I had a lower body lift which included a tummy tuck, mons lift with lipo, outer thigh lipo and fat transfer to buttocks with a Brazilian butt lift.

Even with the swelling, I knew day two that this man is far more than a surgeon, he is a true artist! I've never had such a beautiful, taut tummy in my life.
