I'm a 49 year old women who has had her original implants since age 22 years old and finally decided to be serious about getting them exchanged. I have always been worried that my implants were ruptured but I've asked many different doctors over the years and basically they all asked me the same question (Do you have any issues with them?) Well, I didn't have any pains but I did think the shape wasn't right anymore but I was so busy working raising my kids that I just blew it off until I finally asked my ENT about a good doctor recommendation for a Cosmetic Surgeon.
He gave me two names and I called both offices. I called both offices and asked questions to the receptionist and just how they interacted with me was how I chose which doctor to schedule my first appointment with and that was the best choice I've made about myself in a long time. Not only was the receptionist extremely pleasant to ask questions too but it continued with all staff throughout the office of an exceptional Doctor named Robert J. Spies! He is a board certified plastic surgeon who is not only exceptional is his work but it is reflective in how he interacts with you.
After giving him my personal history and letting him know how long my implants were inside my body he immediately knew after conducting an exam that my implants were probably ruptured because of the way my breast looked. I never felt embarrassed or ashamed that I waited so long to make a decision about myself. Doctor Spies never made me feel uncomfortable at all. We spoke about my options and he explained how the new technology was so much better then it was with the design of my old implants and that I was going to be amazed at how much better the new implants were going to look and feel once inside my body.
I was able to look at several different brands of implants and I ultimately chose the Sientra textured ones. I chose them because they have the most advantaged technology for breast implants and the best warranty providing 14 years of coverage if any issues were to develop over the years where I needed to exchange them.
My doctor stated they were the best on the market and said I would be happy with them which helped me decide on choosing them for myself. Well, its now been three months post and I can honestly say I am very happy not only with my results but the entire process.
I would like to state that Doctor Spies did have his work cut out for him in that my old implants were ruptured and he needed to clean up all the left over product surrounding my tissue and then he put in the new Sientra textured implants. I feel very confidant that Doctor Spies took the time to make sure that he cleaned out my tissue really well before placing in the new implants and that he made the right decision on what size implant would be be suited for my frame.
My recovery time has been a lot easier then my first experience and I absoutely love my new implants! I look so much better now with my new size and shape and my self esteem has been higher then it's been in years. My new breast have a nice shape and feel to them. I also no longer have to worry about my implants ever leaking again inside my body because of the lasted advancement by Sientra. No more worries about the product possibly leaking all around my tissue ever again because it will remain inside the pouch it resides in. Knowing that I've had previous leakage with my old implants is a huge relief that I won't have worry about leakage ever again.
I noticed that a lot of women on this site have had great results and not so great results but I can honestly say that not only is the product extremely important but the doctor is even more important knowing that they are skilled and knowledgeable in there business before they conduct surgery on your body.
