I had my initial breast augmentation in 2006. At that time I had saline Mentor high profile implants overfilled at 440 cc's. At first they looked awesome but over the first 6 months a capsule contracture formed around my right breast. My plastic surgeon tried to "pop" it but was unsuccessful. He then scheduled a revision surgery where he said that he enlarged the pocket and cut away the capsule and tissue. Over the next year or so, my implant dropped below the pocket and I also developed a muscle flexion deformity. My plastic surgeon tried to repair my pocket by using several different types of stitches but failed each and every time. I can't even remember how many revision surgeries I went through but do know that every time led to larger scars and major infections. The last infection required my implant to be removed for a month. After that last bout of infection, I decided that I would research to find an expert surgeon who specialized in revisions to take on my complex case. After 6 years of following Dr. Robert Cohen and his use of Stratisse, I scheduled a consultation. From the minute I spoke with and met Dr. Cohen I knew he was the right choice. I was comforted by his questioning of my past problems, his meticulous measurements and his insight in what may have went wrong and what he may be able to do to help me. This review is being written only 9 days after surgery but I feel that it's been a success. My breasts look awesome. I had absolutely no pain whatsoever after surgery which was amazing to me being that I had major problems going on. He restructured my pockets, lifted by breasts with a lollipop scar and sutured in Stratisse to hold up my new smaller Sientra moderate profile 320 cc implants. He also completed a tummy tuck an lipo on flanks. I was only on pain meds the first 2.5 days and I'm honest when I say that I never felt pain or discomfort in my breasts. The pain meds were taken for the tummy tuck which more/less felt like a mild c-section which I had with my last child. 9 days post-op and I'm feeling great.
