I am super excited and of course nervous, but I’m sure that is natural.
ORIGINAL POST
Scheduled Rhinoplasty
I have been wanting a rhinoplasty since middle school. I really wanted to wait and make sure as I got older and matured that I wasn’t making a rash decision. A couple years ago I had a temporary filler to see how my nose would look with a straighter bridge. I liked it but in my opinion it is not worth how long is lasts versus how much it costs.I found Dr. Andrews a year and a half ago. He was recommended to my by several people. I feel comfortable since he specializes in facial plastic surgery. He is expensive but this is not something I want to skimp out. I am super excited and of course nervous, but I’m sure that is natural. Thus far I have been very pleased with his whole team. Amanda, his coordinator, has a great response rate and is super informative. I will post some of the simulation pictures and when the procedure happens I will keep this review updated.

Thank you! These photos were the projection photos and I think my true results are even better than these simulation photos!

Got it done!
I was super nervous going into surgery because I had no idea how I would personally feel since I had never been under anesthesia. Dr. Andrews bedside manners are calming and reassuring. The surgical center staff was phenomenal as well. I got there, paid for the surgery center and anesthesiologist and was taken to me room after a pregnancy test. I got a hospital gown, socks, and hairnet. Had my IV put in. My anesthesiologist came in and talked to me then Dr. Andrews. After that the nurses came and gave me my happy juicy which calmed me and I was wheeled into surgery. I don’t remember anything until I woke up. I felt really strange and a little dizzy but I haven’t had any side effects from the anesthesia. I did wake up with a bruise under my left eye and some swelling. The pain I would say is a 3-4. Nothing that some pain meds can’t help with. Sleeping is difficult, I keep going in and out and keeping it iced consistently for the first 48 hours. I had a rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. I can kind of already breath through my nose I hope that will improve as I do my sinus rinses. Will keep updating.

Hey it’s been a little over 48 hours since my surgery. I have constantly kept my eyes and face iced during the first 48 hours. Personally I feel pain but pain medicine completely gets rid of that. I am still swollen, not crazy but still swollen, I have bruising, one side is worse than the other. But I think the icing and arnica has made it better than if I didn’t do those things. Keep in mind I bruise really easily. I’m curious to see how I will be feeling in the next few days.

48 hours later
Still swollen and bruised but the more time goes by the better I feel. I definitely think icing my eyes and face the first 48 helped a lot! And it feels really nice. I was able to sleep a little bit better last night so I’m hoping my sleeps continues to improve since rest is so important for healing.
I am a big doer so that hardest thing for me is that I cannot do anything. No lifting, straining, or bending over. I downloaded a few audible books I’ve wanted to listen to while I lounge around. I’m doing saline sinus rinses 6 times a day and that helps clear out my nasal passages a little bit. I still cannot breath through my nose but I continue to try per doctors orders. Cough drops and water have been my best friend to sooth my dry mouth.
I am feeling pain, at the incision area and my nose in general throbs but nothing that the pain medication can’t take care of. I’m sure the pain will go down as time goes by.
Definitely have someone who can help you and care for you especially the first few days.
Will keep updating. Be patient because time is the only thing that helps with healing.
