Post-op and drains out

Thursday the 11th was my first post-op 8 days past surgery. The pain of explant and lift was so less painful than I expected. I vomited first two days but anesthesia and pain meds do that to me. I had the drains out yesterday the 11th. Surgery was 4/3/19.. I feel really good. I am healing really well. Though I had little natural tissue left, my breast from the lift look very much better than I expected them to. My husband is thrilled. He was never really the breast implant bigger booby type man in the first place. My surgeon, he is awesome. He has excellent skill to be able to turn my flattened out saggy breast into something pretty. I even had total feeling in my nipples from day one. Even though I had explant and full anchor lift, the scar underneath my breast folds is not long. I just can't say enough about my appreciation. I feel so much better already! The staff at North Bank Surgical Center are excellent too. They took me right back and my two nurses prepped me. The nurses were very knowledgeable and soothing. I have fear of being put to sleep. I always have. The anesthesiologist came in and talked to me for a long time. He reassured me and told me he was sure I was going to do well. By the time my surgeon came in and talked to me and my husband, daughter and sister, I was so relaxed I couldn't help laughing when Doc started to draw on my breast for the procedure. I was absurd and funny to me to have my doc draw on my breast with markers while our adult daughter and my sister looked on with such interest and serious faces. I just busted out laughing. I couldn't help it. So, I guess I was feeling pretty reassured by then. I was calm when they wheeled me back and remember hearing how much they thought our daughter looked like us when I fell asleep. Next thing you know, I woke up in my room feeling really good with my nurses talking to me and getting me jello, water, and coffee. I was ready to go in a few hours. It is a little rough at home for the first few days (for me anyway because of nausea), but I am so happy to feel better and have my implants out. I keep looking in the mirror and enjoying the real, more proportional, me. I hope that my story gives reassurance and hope to others. If you live in the Salem area, Dr. Neaman and his staff and the North Bank Surgical Center get a 5 star from my husband and myself.

Thanks for sharing your story. I hope and pray you are feeling much better everyday. Can I ask how difficult was the removal of textured implants? I’m considering removing mine after 20 years, but I’m a little afraid since there is not much information on removal of the this type of implants (mine are also the anatomical shape). Will they need to remove the skin surrounding the implant leaving a much bigger dent in place? I haven’t had my consultation yet, but wanted to know from someone who went through it first. TIA.
It’s so hard to know who to go to in Oregon. There are no pictures anywhere. I guess us Oregonians are more private than in LA. Lol.
I want mine out ASAP. I’ve been getting more and more sick over the last 20 + years until I got breast cancer in my late 40’s. Kaiser left 20 year old implants IN, and I had chemo, surgery and radiation with them in. Surgeons keep telling me BII is not real!
Do you feel better?
I hate my implants. They are completely asymmetric and I had a surgeon re do them 2 years ago when they told me BII wasn’t a thing. And she did nothing. They are terrible. I want them out like I wanted originally. Kaiser did the easiest cheapest thing for them. Not the best thing for the patient.
Did Dr Newman do an en bloc capsulectomy? I want to feel better and also I’d like my breasts to be even. And I hate implants now.

4 days post op.

4 day post-op explant and lift. Nausea, vomiting, and migraine are better. Thank the Lord. I have been able to handle the pain with minimal amount of pain medication. Yesterday, I had my first shower. I used a sling that the Surgical Center had provided to keep the drains up hanging from my neck. The shower was quick, but it felt great to be clean and have clean hair. My husband has been so wonderful. He has been there every second through all of it. I was afraid to see my breast for the first time, but I looked in the mirror. I had the anchor lift, so I expected the scars to look worse than they did. MY PS was able to make a smaller incision on the bottom than I thought I would need. Depending on how the scars will heal, my husband and I think they look great! We never expected such good results. Especially, since I am 59, nursed 3 kiddos and had severe sagging with little tissue left, we did not think that the PS would be able to make a nice, plump, round shape, but he did it! They look so natural and they are all mine no more plastics. I can't wait to see Dr. Neaman at my post-op and thank him. My breast are smaller than when I was young and pre-pregnancies, but I don't care about that. They used to be a really full B pre-pregnancies and pre-augmentation 26 years ago. I would say they are going to be a B or a fuller A. To my husband and myself, the symmetry and shape look perfect. Like I said, the pain from explant and lift have been very tolerable. Also, I did not have one single bruise. I do not know how he accomplished that. I did use Arnica Montana as was suggested by him, but I did not start them until after the surgery. I have slept a lot, but I have been able to use my arms without any problems. I try to remember not to stretch or reach too far, and I don't lift anything heavy of course. There is obviously a lot of healing to do. I was a nervous wreck over everything and my husband was too. The Northbank Surgical Center In Salem, OR and Dr. Keith Neamen were fantastic to work with. Their knowledge, professionalism, gentleness and ability to connect was really, really calming and reassuring. Well, I just can't say enough about what a great team they are. I will try to get my hubby to help me post some pics. Thank all of you ladies for your stories and your comments that gave me to do what needed to be done. My neck, upper back and shoulders already feel so much better after all these years of pain and stiffness. I am hoping for improvements in my auto-immune illness and other symptoms. I will update as things change and after my 8th day post op. Bless you all.

One week post deflaiton and 1 week until explant and a lift. Needs some insight.

One week post deflation of my 26 year old under the muscle implants saline implants. Now, one week until my explant of empty bags. My neck and upper back tension and pain is almost gone. Imagine that, after all these years with that neck pain and tension knots in my upper back. Following a whole foods diet really closely. No wine on date night boo hoo. The empty bags are bothering me, and my left breast has quite a bit of pain. probably from the movement of the implant bags, as now that the saline has been siphoned off, they have more room to move around. I have read a lot of a lot of medical websites, and it says that women tend to have worse pain in the left breast. Sure enough I have read more women saying that they have more problems or pain in the left breast. I can't remember why medical websites said that. Might have something to do with where the lymph is in the left breast. I have been walking and trying to stay healthy. My EKG was fine, but my white blood cells are low. I am pretty tired. Some of it I attribute to the auto-immune illnesses, low white cells, and just pure stress about waiting for this surgery to get the rest of it done. I am pretty saggy breasted right now in my opinion, and it would be worse when they get the bags out I suppose. I really am worried about the extra pain of the lift, and my doc keeps mentioning that I don't have a lot of breast tissue left. I am thinnish anyway 5'3" and 120lbs, plus, all of the nursing children in the past. But...when the doctor keeps bringing upA "you have not a lot of breast tissue, it makes me wonder if they would look worse even after the lift? If so, maybe I shouldn't opt for the lift. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH EXPERIENCE GETTING A LIFT WITH SMALL AMOUNT OF TISSUE? PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU DO? I only have one week to make up my mind.
Thanks girls.

I did it. It is done! Explant and lift. 2 days post-op. My largest problem has been extreme nausea, vomiting, and headache. I do have some pain, but the pain is not as bad as I thought it would be. I will probably shower tomorrow, so hope that goes well. My procedure was performed at Northbank Surgical Center. My PS and the team were really great to work with. They addressed all of my concerns. Hopefully all of this nausea and headache are gone tomorrow. Hope all of you ladies are doing well.
How did they turn out? I got implants at 30. I’m now 52. I had breast cancer in my late 40’s and Kaiser left 20 year old implants in! I had chemo, surgery, and radiation all with these old implants inside. They said we could see how they look afterwards and then in the meantime my plastic surgeon retired and the new ps said Kaiser won’t fix asymmetry or anything because I had a lumpectomy. Which the surgeon told me I should have because I had to have radiation regardless of mastectomy or lumpectomy. I wanted a double mastectomy. I had a very aggressive type and grade and size of tumor and it went to my primary lymph node. I was hormone negative. I have a long story. When I went to another surgeon to fix the mess I had found out then about BII. I had never heard of it before. The plastic surgeons told me there was no such thing! I have every symptom on the list. My allergies and food sensitivities have turned into a histamine intolerance...to everything. I think my body was so preoccupied with other things...it couldn’t fight off cancer. Anyway, I finally have 2 consultations with drs in Oregon but have no idea who to go to for best as the tic results? I want a lift as I know there will be nothing left. And now my radiated side is so much tighter...it has CC from radiation. Ugh. I wish drs didn’t keep saying that. I don’t want another surgery again!
Well, maybe a facelift. Lol.
But I am sick of worrying about my breasts.
