His overuse of steroid injections caused thinning and depressions

I Had a Terrible Experience

Janjua's careless, unnecessary overuse of steroid injections into scar dog ears caused permanent thinning and depressions of the surrounding skin. The only fix would be filler into dangerous zones of glabella. I saw a video of him from a few years back with someone that had a similar scar, and he actually warns of this happening. With Kenalog injections, he says only "a very little" should be used. So it seems he may say all the right things for the camera, but it doesn't mean he'll actually practice what he preaches for every patient.

Hopefully better doctors can fix his botch job

I have seen other plastic surgeons after leaving Janjua, and all of them agreed that the treatment of the scar dog ear was incorrect. An ethical doctor wouldn't take unnecessary risks of permanent damage to a patient just to try to speed up the healing process.

I regret allowing Janjua to work on me

After surgery from another doctor, my forehead is finally looking better. But the permanent damage that Janjua caused cannot magically be reversed, I will still need a lifetime of painful fillers or have a riskier fat transfer procedure just to get back to where I was, something Janjua seemed to take very lightly. The doctor that helped me couldn't understand how a facial plastic surgeon could make such bad decisions, like pulling the skin in that area of the face so far over that it would inevitably bunch up above my nose, then trying to use Kenalog as a shortcut and making the problem even worse. Had Janjua put more thought and care into what he was doing, perhaps things would've turned out better, but he always seemed to be in some kind of a rush and eager to get to the next patient. I've had to go through a lot of extra pain, all for a small half inch scar that he "promised" he could handle. He continually used the line that "sometimes with surgery you can't get good results." But the only reason it looked as bad as it did, was because of his own carelessness. Clearly other doctor's could've done a better job. The one thing Janjua does do really well though, is advertising, and marketing himself as a better surgeon than he actually is. My advice, don't pick a doctor based on his social media and videos, where he shows only what he wants you to see. Go with a doctor that actually has a 5 star rating. They're hard to find, but worth it, even if it cost more. You only get one face, don't leave it in the hands of someone who may not care, or is only interested in getting to the next patient. And if you're still undecided, thinking Janjua seems very nice and says all the right things, just keep my before and after pictures in mind, and remember, he "promised" that this was his best.
