Compression garment

Here’s what the shape with compression garment looks like about 2.5 weeks post-op. My waist is down from 31” to 28”.

Day 5 bruising

Dr. Shanklin said the bruising is all as expected, as is the swelling. He said the fullness at the top is swelling, the areas he contoured at the bottom will shrink up, and the fat will drop. He made me feel much better.

I can put ointment and band-aids on the incisions now, and he said I don’t have to sit on a pillow or anything. He said the fat he grafted isn’t where I’d be sitting, but not to lean against chair backs, or I’ll suffocate the good fat.

I went back to work today, which they said was fine, but I got a little depressed. I think it’s a mix of a lot of things. But don’t keep these feelings to yourself when you have them! I felt lonely and hopeless.

P.O. day 4

Haven’t felt like sitting down to type it all out, sorry for being MIA. I’m still bruised and sore, swollen and waiting for the butt to drop. I woke up on 12/28, got there around 7:30, and surgery started at 8:15. I woke up in recovery and stayed overnight, slept easily. When I got home, I slept more, ate some, and stayed on top of my meds. The last few days has been fine, then the “blues” hit me today.

I’m not sure why, but maybe it’s feeling bloated and bruised, knowing I have to keep sleeping on my stomach. It hurts laying up on my elbows, and hurts my neck turning it to the side from the couch to watch TV. My back is really bruised, and though I like the shape from lipo, I know I’ll shrink more as the swelling goes down. Showering has been pretty easy, just stings on the incisions a bit. I go back to work tomorrow, I think, and I’m not looking forward to it.
