Chin & Arm Lipo-4 Days Post Op - Dominican Republic, DO
ORIGINAL POST
Just returned to the states from Santo Domingo, DR...
Just returned to the states from Santo Domingo, DR. Went through with the arm lipo, chin lipo & filled in my frown lines with a bit of the fat from chin. What an experience!!
I stayed at a hotel around the corner from the Doc, dropped the recovery house idea since the procedure was outpatient. Thank God i was accompanied & had a local friend otherwise I would have really been doomed to say the least. I am now 4 days post op.
the swelling was significant but today it's just to the point my skin feels as it were being pulled (got worse). Hematoma went from the top of my arm and gradually worked its way down to my wrists. Now I'm worried! Wonder if this is normal. Wish someone would advise.

Improving! 8 days Post-op
I was so worried in my last post, guess never having had any work done, I wasn't sure what to expect. My bruising is slowly fading as well as the swelling. I was dying to get back to my kitchen aka my home remedy temple! I have been doing a lot of lymphatic massages on myself with organic coconut oil, chowing down one garlic clove daily (chopped), drinking lots of homemade tea (fresh pineapple, honey, turmeric powder, ginger & lime) (green tea w/ honey and lime), taking iron tabs, vitamin E, fish oil, calcium magnesium & zinc tabs, milk thistle, Levanol (antibiotic), no salts or greasy foods. Just veggies, fresh fruit, and broths. I am wearing the garment for my arms all day at work, and removing it at night. The chin garment I am only using at night as well. For the record, no I'm no Dr. but I think highly of alternative medicine so I have been doing a lot of these natural home remedies to help the relief the inflammation & hematomas . Everyone's individual reaction may be different, just sharing what works for me. Use at your own risk!!. Can't wait for the before and after photos! Xoxoxo chicas! (Coming soon: TT & BBL)

What hotel did you use? Happy healing

Hotel Mystik in Santo Domingo.... ($45/night equivalent to $2,045 pesos) , next door is a water distillery (Villa Hermanos) grab yourself an 18 case of bottled water for $2 US dollars (do not drink their sink water), on the corner a very good Restaurant / buffet/bakery, adjacent to that an Orange store (one of the cellphone providers in DR). Also a pharmacy next to the Orange store. Very good location I found. Good luck!

I hope all is well. Does it appear than the fat transferred to your frown lines is going to survive and thrive? Is it lumpy or smooth? Are you referring to horizontal lines on your forehead or the lines we have between our eyebrows? DId you see any photos of other facial fat transfer patients?

Hi! Sorry for the delay. It has been a month in a half since the fat transfer (frown line filler) but to answer your question about the frown lines, NO, the fat did not survive! I expected too see no frown lines, but they're still there. Toward the first 3 weeks it was a bit bumpy, but nothing too drastic. Barely noticeable. Truthfully, I suspect the process may not have been done properly, but who knows. Yes I did search for before & after photos of others who have done the fat transfer fillers but not by the surgeon who did my procedure.

There is a chance that the fat volume will increase in the next six weeks but if not it probably did not survive. I had transfer to my lips over 20 years ago and was pleasantly surprised by the survival because the lips do not have good survival odds. Last year I had fat added to my cheeks with good survival; however, the literature suggest the cheeks have the best survival rate. I was following your story because I need my temples filled as well as some serious forehead lines. Would you let us know if the next couple of months it seems dormant fat cells may have began to increase in size? Do you have a very expressive face with more than average forehead movement (and other facial movements) when you speak? I have a very expressive face which leads to early lines and the frequent movement decreases survival. I will "keep my finger crossed" that you are going through the "dip" that I have read about. Thanks for responding

At this point i truly hope that increase takes place or I will be having fat injected at the frown lines again, but honestly im not counting on it. I will keep you posted. Yes i have vivid facial expressions but no concerns on the lines as of yet but who knows a few years from now. I will keep you posted. Best of luck on your path! Genetics has alot to do with it and of course age, its just inevitable.

2 months (Post-op)
Writing this review once more. The other got lost in the limbo. Sooo its been 2 months since that WOW experience in DR, I say wow because I was so naive to stay at a hotel and think I could just hit the streets to shop & explore the day after the procedure (which I did btw smh). I was on my own, no nurses, no help. You gotta have tough skin and mind set to ride these kind of things out alone, #hats off to those that have# my swelling in my opinion has subsided, about 90% gone. Any lumps, bruising and hematomas I had are no longer visible, in other words gone! Still a tiny bit tender when I pinch but it's nothing really. I am quite pleased with the results! And now protecting my investment of course lol. Since surgery I've lost 12 lbs and have done a 360 in my eating habits. I was back in the office (work) 4 days after the procedure, with no problem. (2017 here i come for my TT, & BBL) If I might add, just for the sake of not going back to that clinic I think I may have to look elsewhere, but I will admit Dr. Marte himself is great, and he did mention to me he was working on opening up a different location for his procedures, I truly hope so!

Thanks for your thorough reviews. You look great by the way. I am considering getting the same procedures as yourself; arms, neck/chin area. Would you know if Dr. Marte is still at the location listed here?
Welcome to the community, thanks for starting a review. I hope you find lots of support here. If you haven't checked in here yet, it's a great place to find additional support. I would suggest following up with your doctor regarding your hematoma and address any concerns that you have. Also, you can ask the doctors here at RealSelf for an expert opinion, be sure to include your photos. Here is some information you may find helpful:
