I am 5.5 and only weighing in 114 lb and thin everywhere, but have a protruding abdomen that makes me look as thought I'm 4-5 months pregnant. I don't and shouldn't go on diets since I'm considered a little underweight. In the past, exercise did little to change this. After hearing and reading about Coolsculpting and after a consultation with a plastic surgeon and their technician they said I was a good candidate since my fat is very localized and due to menopause. This is not a weight loss program, and since I don't want to lose weight but just reduce the bulk in my abdomen area I decided to give it a go.
The procedure took two hours, they used the large applicator on either side of my lower abdomen. One hour each side one at a time. At first you have to hold on to something because if feels like you're going to have your all insides sucked in. You feel some pulling and some tugging and after maybe the initial 10 minutes the area gets frozen and goes numb. I would not consider it pain, just some discomfort. The harder part is when the applicator is removed and you have the are massaged for about 3 minutes. You'll feel some pain and cramping that will subside in 5-10 minutes. By the time the second area is applied I don't feel anymore pain on the first one. The second side was much easier and less painful when it came time for the massage, but by then I had taken two ibuprofen. I recommend taking them 20 minutes before you get your first massage.
I didn't get much brushing at all, just redness, swelling and soreness. All this continue, at day 4 (yesterday) I had a lot more of the tingling almost little needles poking you and some cramping. After reading some of the reviews I was dreading today, but have to say I actually feel less of the tingling, no cramping but I'm still sore. I do sleep well and am able to carry on my normal life, but I'm not hitting the gym like some other patients did right after the procedure. Like with anything you need to give your body time to heal.
As for results it's too early to comment on it. Every literature and the doctor and technicians will tell you (should tell) not to expect much results for at least 1 month, and that full results should be obtain by month 3.
My question remains as to the longevity of the results. Can anyone say they were permanent or long term?

One week post

One week after my procedure and there's no more tingling, no more numbness, and there's no cramps, but still soreness when touched or when leaning over the belt. And of course no visual results, although I didn't expect to see any for another 3 weeks. Luckily I wasn't one of those people that experienced terrible cramping and sharp pains after day 5. Anxious to week four and find out if I need another treatment in the same area to get desired results.

I'm glad to see you're hanging in there. If you decide to get another round of the procedure, would you wait until your three month anniversary or get it immediately during week four?

They told me after one month we can already tell if I need a second round, that of course depending on what results I want. So in a few weeks I'll know, as for when to do it I'll have to follow their advice, but I think 2 months between treatments is probably recommended.

Two weeks after Coolsculpting

Two weeks after the procedure and I have little to no numbing. Discomfort only when I press against my belly. But also no visible results. Looking forward to my 1 month to begin to see something and to find out whether I need a second round.
