Please help me. I have 8 year old saline mentor...

Please help me. I have 8 year old saline mentor implants under the muscle 450cc. Last August 2014 I started getting neck and back pain. I figured due to past car accidents. After many doctor visits, chiropractor, meds, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, cortisone shots etc my pain only got worse and more widespread. In January started getting joint pain in wrists, hips, knees, elbows, etc. Random tingles/numbness in finers and toes. Weak right arm. Stiff right side if neck. Severe upper stomach pain and soft stools. Sorry tmi. Still on my journey with docs to find help., most dismiss me, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, 4 primary physicians etc. In april 2015 after extensive bloodwork I finally got a diagnosis of hashimoto's. However, my thyroid levels are normal so I don't understand. I also got a positive ana test 1:160 speckled but docs say it's not lupus or RA. So what is it? I take a bunch of supplements and lowdose naltrexone to help with the autoimmune aspect I suppose. Until one day in may, during bible study while we were praying for my illnesses a woman came up to me saying she also has an autoimmune disease and believes she got it from her cornea implants. It was like a knife through my heart. I never considered my saline implants as they have never caused me any grief in 8 years. After much research and prayer I'm led to explant in two weeks. Consulted with Dr schooler in santa barbara. I like him I'm just worried if he will do it right and the capsulectomy is thorough enough. I've noticed just recently my right breast us much lower than the left, it wasn't like that before. Majority of my pain and issues are right sided as well. I fear that taking them out won't resolve my health issues. But is it normal to have this much pain and flu like symptoms with hashimoto's? Idk. I don't even care that I will look like a boy again once they're out, we'll I do but my health is all I desire so I can be an awesome wife and mom. Please tell me correlation with hashimoto's, my symptoms, and saline implants . Please tell me I won't look horrible once they are out and i will start feeling better. Please tell me dr schooler is a wise choice. Please be in prayer for me. I'm reading the naked truth book and I read so much about detox, hiw do I even know if I have fungus, mold or bacteria? Feeling overwhelmed and fearful. Trusting God. Clinging to Jesus. Need more confirmation. Thank you. God bless you.

Have faith and know that without your health, you truly have nothing. I ex planted after 9 years last summer. I have hashimotos and am weaning myself off my meds at the moment. I'm getting a thyroid ultrasound in August to see if my thyroid is functioning on its own again. I had lost hope that I would ever have a normal functioning thyroid again, but for months I have felt like a normal human being. No wanting afternoon naps, or being dog tired at 8:30 every night. You have everything to gain from losing those implants. I also had the worst dry eyes and my optometrist was blown away how improved they were. He probed me on all changes I'd made just trying to figure it out. Your body wants to heal, and I feel like my realm age for the first time in years. I also detoxes after my explant and follow an autoimmune paleo diet as much as possible. This website opened my eyes and helped me put my health back in order. I wish you the same!!!

I don't think anyone can say exactly for sure, if ALL of your symptoms are caused by breast implants (so be prepared that you may have to address those other issues separately). That being said, it is possible there could be some relationship. You're body is after all, dealing with foreign objects, & some people react more vehemently to those things than others do. One thing is for certain though, you're breasts will feel GREAT, after getting the implants out, & they start compressing back together. They will genuinely thank you with wonderful, relief sensations, when your surgery is over! Most people who explant don't look bad at all. In the multiple before & after pictures I've seen, natural is really so much softer, & more beautiful, than the blown-up balloons look. The lens of painful experience, also helps you see things differently. The first 3 weeks of having to be in the compression wrap might make you feel a little awkward in clothing (when dealing with the public). And at first, your breasts will look a little shriveled, like you've just had a baby. But your skin will bounce back & adjust, after some massaging with good oils like, coco butter, coconut oil, emu oil or various other options. You will feel much more aligned with your true biology. And since you are religious, it will no doubt, make you feel purified, like you are being more respectful of your God given temple. It's normal to feel a bit hysterical, & paranoid, right before you venture into this sort of life altering surgery. I understand from my doctor, that explanting is typically an easy procedure. If you feel that one side is lower, & you are concerned, you may wish to inquire, if your doctor could perhaps give you some sort of internal lift, with dissolving stitches or something, at the bottom of your right pocket. Or it may be, that it won't be any big deal at all. Sounds like you're going through the usual pre-op gitters. I had the craziest mood swings, all over the place, from big highs, to bummer lows. That's totally normal when facing a life altering experience, like this is. But I believe you will calm down, & be thrilled, when it's done & over. Best wishes, for happy days ahead!

Hello from the UK. Well I empathise with you as I'm having my PIPs removed in couple of months and am so worried about how I'll look too so have decided on an uplift but in my head : heart I don't want one. Your story is a little similar to mine so don't worry please - although I know how we do . It's a huge thing isn't it but you know we develop thicker breast tissue with age so I'm guessing you'll have nice au naturelle beasts when you're through. Let's celebrate femininity and dash the trash that is silicone . Very best of luck to you x

Yes! Trust God -- He brought you to this turning point as He did me and many others. I had many of your symptoms and more. I am now 4-weeks post-ex plant and 1 week into a hectic business trip across the country....feeling great! I aced at how much better I feel and how great my breasts look and feel. Your anxiety and concerns are normal and you will be fine. You're making a GREAT decision for your health! My detox was interrupted by this trip but getting right back on it when I get home. Paleo diet, juices, supplements and lymphatic massage. Takes time and effort but worth it. I am so grateful to have the toxic bags out of my body and you will be too. All the best.

Hi there. What is entailed in a lymphatic massage?
User Avatar
July 26, 2015
Hi. Lymphatic massage is done by specialists often in a therapeutic-medical setting as opposed to regular massage. (Although there are massage therapists who can do it.) It is very gentle, concentrating on the lymph nodes and pathways to stimulate them or "move" stuff through the lymph system. Very gentle and not painful.

Hi kcamp! You are in that pre-op period when self-doubt and fears prevail. And when you're suffering with symptoms it's tough. Many people have immediate relief from symptoms upon explant...for others it takes time. For me, within days the most distressing symptoms disappeared -- horrendous rash, headaches, neck and back pain. I started sleeping better, felt I could breathe better, and no more shooting pains and cramps. I still have some upper back pain and swelling in my armpits, but it's getting better. I firmly believe that we cannot be optimally healthy with a toxic, un-natural substance in our bodies. I will never do this to myself again. Post-surgery results vary a lot depending on how much breast tissue you have, your age, weight, etc. They will look different -- but GOOD different -- natural, soft and without the fake round fullness on top. You should express your fears and concerns to your Dr. I wrote down lists of my concerns when I went in for consultation, day of surgery and post surgery visits. At the end of the day, I had to trust. Trust my surgeon, trust myself and trust God. Wishing you well on your journey. You are not alone. So many of us have walked the path before you. God Bless You!

Hang in there, kccamp! I am getting my implants removed in a little more than 6 weeks. Mine have been in 25 years and I fear one or both have been ruptured, perhaps for a long time. As someone on this board said to me about explant, "if not now, when". They will have to be dealt with at some time, and the sooner the better when you are dealing with rupture. Stay strong...it will be more painful NOT to deal with this, than to deal with it. I get my strength from reading the stories on this board. You will finding the common thread of pre-surgery fear in most every story, followed by the relief of being on the other side. No one can guarantee you will get relief from your symptoms, but this surgery can't make them worse and may prevent new symptoms from developing. You can do this! If you have any hesitation with your surgeon, meet with him again to answer those questions that are nagging at you. Go into this with confidence ~ with all the success stories on this board and a 98% worth it rating for the procedure, the deck is stacked on your side. :)

You will be fine, I had mine taken out last Friday and am doing great. Pain is tolerable and although my breasts are still taped up I can already see the difference in just a few days. I also had horrible symptom's after 24 yrs of nothing. I Thought back in Feb when mine ruptured I was going to die. I feel so much better now and the stress is becoming less each day as I feel better. One day at a time and you will be fine.
Take care and I know you will be happy once its over with as many of us are now.

It is a lot to go through while trying to be prepared for everything. I had an en-bloc explant last Nov.& was worried about detoxification also. All I really needed was the explant & my body did the detoxification on its own. It made me feel like I was doing more by taking vitamins and mineral supplements and I also took baths w/Epson salts. I had a ton of health issues and I am feeling much much better now in fact even during recovery I felt better w/more energy than I had in years. I think getting the toxic bags out is a great choice! Hang in there girl as it does get better.

Hey kcamp! Supplies vary. I had NOTHING because the time from my diagnosis to explant was less than a week and I worked until the day before surgery. I just made do. I wish I'd gotten a front-close support/sports bra. Lots of girls recommend coconut oil -- I find it greasy and prefer a good serum and moisturizer. Scar gel or strips -- but you don't use them until the stitches are out/gone. If you're not already taking them, you should get vitamin/mineral supplements. But essentially, after surgery you need REST, good nutrition -- clean, fresh. light, healthy food, more REST, lots of water, and more REST. Good luck!

If you can, get a second opinion from Dr. Chapple. I had my explant with him and I'm thrilled! He has been around a very long time and is very conservative. I was told By Dr. Buchannan that I really needed a capsulectomy in both breasts. Dr. Chapple said you can't really tell until you get in there. It turns out my breasts were hard up top not because of calcification but because they were just being squeezed. I had no capsule contracture!!! So, he went in with a local and I felt nothing, slept thru and was in and out the door in 1 hour. I'm so grateful for him! He's very very knowledgeable. He's from England, has the nicest staff. His office is on the plain side and he does his surgeries there in his on site surgery center. He even held my hand as I went out! I can't say enough about him. He's the best at explant and he charges less. He truly cares about the patient and wants to help. He recommended going in with local first as he was sure there was most likely no contraction. He said if there was I would come back in a separate surgery. This way the body has time to heal in between and it's much less invasive. Recovery was a breeze! I just took tylenol for a couple of days and rested a lot. Don't lift anything for at least a week, even laundry. You don't want a seroma. Easy peasy. Just have someone there to help out but mainly you will do all your own personal care you just need someone to lift things. Best to you! You're doing the best thing for your body. You will be thrilled! Oh, I had NO drains either. It's been 5 months and they look amazing! They looked sad at first but it's a wonder what 5 months will do.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Danskin-Now-Women-s-Seamless-Sport-Bras-2-Pack/15540051 This is the best and most comfy after surgery bra! They don't dig in at all under the breast. The staff put it over my head and it was perfect. Super comfy. After I healed I moved on to regular sports bras. These don't have a ton of support for working out but perfect for after surgery! I found this here on a sight from a woman who had tried on every sports bra known to man. She was right.

My surgery is tomorrow. I have 9 yr old saline implants under the muscle. Ive suffered for years with backache, nerve & muscle pain, numbness in fingers, mostly all on my left side. Also stomach issues, weight gain & restless sleep. Was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Lots of women on here have the same thing after getting implants. I finally got the courage to get these things out of my body. doctor told me I would probably need a lift but most of the women on here say the doctors always try to talk you into a lift and the ones that don't get it end up pleased with results with no lift. Im a little nervous about my surgery tomorrow and also have been nesting lol. I purchased a nice sports bra that zips up in the front and they have my jello all made up for the next few days as well as broth and some other stuff light. Am off work from Wednesday to next Monday so hopefully that will be enough time for recovery as I have a desk job. I'm feeling confident from reading all of the stories of the brave woman on this site to feel so much relief after they get their implants out. Wish me luck!

Praying for u now...

I explanted four weeks ago-best decision I ever made. I wore Hour Glass compression bra night and day for two weeks after first seven days in an ace-bandage. After Hour Glass which Dr. Kim liked due to the compression, I switched to a Champion zip up the
front sports bra, on sale at
Hanes.com. Hour Glass was
$32. Am now in a normal bra but still prefer the compression, for now. Hope this helps.

I explanted on June 29th. Best decision ever! The recovery was so easy compared to having them put in. I bought lots of healthy food to help in the healing process and help detox my body. Also make sure you buy a few bras without underwire that are supportive to help the skin go back to normal. Good luck and don't worry you'll feel so much better when they're out!
