I always wanted a nice looking full chest. I only developed to a 32 B and I'm not planing on having kids any time soon so I finally went for it! I booked 3 consultations with 3 different surgeons. From the moment I made an appointment over the phone to even today 3 days post op, the ladies that work at Dr Handel's office, in addition to Dr. H himself, put me at ease and went way over the top to keep me comfortable and happy. I am a doctor myself so I definitely did my research and had an understanding of what I wanted by the time I went to see him and honestly my expectations are pretty high. Dr Handel met my expectations and then some.
First of all- Dr. Handel listens to what his patient wants and his goal is to make that happen. Whereas other surgeons I consulted with tried to talk me out of the type of implant I wanted (anatomic/shaped/"gummy bear") or the size I wanted. He tailors every surgery to what you already have and what it is you're trying to achieve. He's not a one-size-fits-all kind of guy which is a sign of a good surgeon with lots of experience.
I went with Mentor textured anatomic implants high profile. We had originally thought 345cc would be a good size for me. Dr Handel was willing to try the implant above and below that during the time of surgery as well to see what would look best. I had found a pic of my dream boobs and had a copy of that in the operating room to remind him what I was going for. Everyone in the room decided 300cc was perfect and any bigger looked silly. I'm so happy they made the right decision and went with 300cc bc I love them!!!! They wrapped me in bandages for 3 days. I went in for my post op yesterday and they removed my dressing and put me in a sports bra. His office was in contact with me the whole time, texting and calling. They are an amazing team of people.
I'm 4 days post op now. For those of you who have done your homework you know that they usually look like Frankenstein-boobies at first. Well, not mine! Because Dr Handel is so great they already look great and have a great shape. If this is the worst they'll ever look I can't wait to see them settle in over time. I'll keep posting as they heal.
I also receive kenalog injections for my keloid scar formation on my left breast.
