Waiting for the Clear

I saw Dr. Ting for the first time on August 12th. The wait time was about 20 minutes and Dr. Ting saw me for about 15 minutes. He diagnosed my adult acne as hormonal and my back acne as a possible yeast infection. I was prescribed several medications and Dr. Tings skin line. I went to the back waiting room. I asked their opinion on the tinted moisturizer vs the ‘regular’ one. One girl answered and when I asked a second question the young lady refused to answer and told me to ask the girl I was talking to.
It was really rude to the both of us. But hey I came here for clear skin! I made my purchase and used his face wash and Spironolactone/dapsone cream that night. The next morning I used the same face wash (sulfur) and vitamin c pads and his tinted moisturizer immediately I saw great results!
I have suffered with acne since I was 13 years old I’m now 29 years old. My face was clearest it’s been in a very long time. But then I formed a rash on my chest which had never broken out before. I started the rest of the oral medication two weeks later just to monitor my reactions.
My face is very dry and he prescribed hydrocortisone cream only 2-3 a week. It’s now September 9th my face is not as clear as it was the first week but that’s okay because I had expected to purge and I didn’t thank goodness! But my rash on my chest is getting worse.
I rescheduled my appointment so that I’ll come in earlier in about 6 days. I’m hoping they can figure out what the itchy rash on my chest is about. I wouldn’t mind staying on this same regimen if this was sorted out. I’ll add more pics at the second and third month since this will give a better idea if it’s working or not. I’ll update everyone soon!
Good luck to you all on your journey to clear skin

I went in today and saw Kathy she sat with me for what felt like an hour. The rash went away but this time I had new cysts on my temples and cheeks. Which doesn’t seem just hormonal and more like in combination of genetics. (My father also suffered from acne) We decided to take that step to accutane after trying everything else. She was very informative and went over the pros and cons. This was my second visit but she took the time to learn everything I had used in the past and I’m really looking forward to having a clear face after over 15 years of acne. I will keep you all posted on my journey to clear skin and hopefully to the removal of my scars with Dr. Ting

I hope you responded to treatment. I had Acne in my mid 40’s on my back. We tried antibiotics, retin-A (topical), different soaps, for a year, but the only product which cleared everything (face and back) was ACCUTANE, 20 mg. It broke the cycle of acne on my back and my face. The only Side effect was a tiny dry lip problem but Ive been clear since. I could tell the difference within a week acne was clearing up but still took to make sure. Well worth price. Tried as last resort knowing insurance doesn’t pay but wish tried sooner.

Unfortunate. My dr told me to take with fatty “meal” (pizza, ice cream, etc) because Accutane worked better. Once I did, skin improved. I was on 20 mg twice a day, then down to 10 mg once a day. So took with ice cream!! Good luck with other treatments.
