I found Dr.Diep on youtube. Like alot of people I liked the results from the video he posted. During that time I stared losing my hair. I started noticing my hair line is receding. I contacted the clinic and set a date for a consultation via Skype. I ask Dr.Diep is it too early for me to have a hair transplant because I am worry i will continue losing hair. He said it would be fine and he can do a second session when I start losing more hair. I now realize he was just saying that to reassure me so I will fly over for the transplant because how would he know if he can't really see my donor area. Mistake number 1. So I set a date and flew over to san jose. Before I flew over there is shave my head because he ask me to. Mistake number 2. I should have left it alone because a real caring Dr. Would want to see how you style your hair so he knows how he would draw your hairline. I get there and meet dr diep. He seems nice and seem to know what he's talking about. So he draw a my hairline. I told him it was to low and I think it was too aggressive. He told me it will be fine and that it looks good. I trusted him. Mistake number 3. So we start on the procedure. He give me some xanex which I thought was weird because I thought I be under some kind of sedation. He extract from my donor are while I see the technicians get ready. After that I fell in and out of sleep from the pill. I would wake up during my surgery. I woke to eat and realize this whole time the technicians was inserting my hair. I was really worried now because he did not tell me he was not perform the surgery. They finish in the evening time around 7pm. A total of 10hrs. I went back to the hotel and follow up with him the next day. I'm still in shock because dr diep was no where around to answer my questions. The next day I went there still no dr.diep. I was met by his receptionist who just look at my donor are and gave some cream and antibiotics and some instructions on how to treat my head after the transplant. I ask to speak to dr.diep and the told me he was busy with another patient. They said he will contact me. He never did. Well now it's November 2015. My transplant looks terrible. It dont look natural at all. All they did was insert a hairline that is too aggressive. I'm am continuing to lose my hair down the middle of my head to the back of my crown. So imagine somebody who has a front row of hair and going bald. I went to another dr recently and they said I don't have enough hair in the donor area for a transplant. So even if I shave my head I would look funny as hell with a row of hair in the front. Not only that the doner area look real noticeable with hair missing. Little white dots everywhere. I try contacting dr. Diep but all they say is to set a date which is always 3 or 4 months away. It seems like Dr diep use youtube as advertising to get people like me who don't know much and trust him because he's a doctor who specializes in asian hair transplant. He don't even do the transplant his technician does! I feel like I got screwed for 12000. On top of that my hair is screwed worst than to began with. I'm asian and I thought I could trust an Asian doctor. Boy was I wrong.

Can we see a picture? Im gong to diep in april and want to see? Ive noticed almost all these doctors have their workers doingthe surgery though. You should consider BHT (body hair transplant) to thicken your hair or for more donor area. There is this doctor who is real good with it, his name is dr sanusi umar. But yah id like to see your results

T 25 yep that was my experience. I'm pretty sure alot of other people fell for his youtube videos. They probably didnt post their reviews. Ive seen other surgeon for consultation and they told me obout the pros and cons. Dr.diep didnt. Everything was like yea everything will be fine. He needs to be more straight up instead of telling us what we want to hear so he can make a quick buck.

Can you post some pictures of your HT so that we can see the claims that you speak of and are dissatisfied about with the procedure. It would be helpful to others that may seek service from this physician to make a judgment call rather than just what is elaborated with words. I for one am intrigued to see what the results of your claim bare in truth to what it actually is.

I was told by dr diep that there isn't any cons. Except infection from improper wound healing. He said its a simple procedure. Can you elaborate on the cons?

I went to him too and had a similar experience! I am over a little over 4 months out. I had the fut with 3,100 graphs. My new hair is growing but I lost so much hair from the procedure I have less now. I live 10 minutes away from his office and I had to send them pictures of my shock loss he wouldn't see me in the office. The aftercare is terrible. I keep telling people that but I don't think they are listening. My hairline at this point looks fine but I feel for the cost it's a rip off! I can't shave my head because now I have a big scar. The techs were nice but they do the procedures. The doctors only cuts the sews up the area. I am sorry for your experience mine wasn't great either. He didn't even look at my donor area when they took out my stitches, a tech who didn't speak English took them out. I am 40 and wouldn't suggest a 32 year getting a transplant. I thkught 40 was pushing it due to future hair loss.

I'm very fortunate to not have gone with Dr. Diep for my procedure not only because of the cost but the fact that his suggestions for Fut and Fue combination wasn't exactly the right technique I would consider. His YouTube videos are just an elaborate scheme to show the potential patients the dramatic transformations that is possible but I wasn't fooled by it. Luckily I went overseas and had a decent experience with a fraction of the cost. Mind you that this was in itself a big gamble but so far I am please with the results as to what potentially I would have been looking like with a Norwood 5 by now. I never let the fact that he is asian the deciding factor in my selection of choice but rather his skills set and bedside manner. However, after the Skype consultation I didn't really feel comfortable with him at all. I'm glad I saved myself $18000 and hope that others will learn from these posts that if the technicians are doing the procedure than you may be as well take it overseas since they are doing the same thing. Ultimately, a good doctor will express to you what is and isn't possible and tend to your every questions and aftercare needs. Dr. Diep is in it for the money it would appear and what happens afterwards is left to you to figure out.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you find support in the community.
