After tons of research on RS, I decided to go to Dr. Mabrie for my procedure as he takes a conservative approach and uses micro cannula which is supposed to reduce bruising.
I was very nervous when I arrived at his office. I had a bad experience with Juvederm in 2000, five months before my wedding and it left me with bruising under eye for months.
Doctor Mabrie looked at my face and provided several suggestions. He suggested that I use Voluma to fill up some of the mid face volume lost and it could in term lift the under eye area without having the needle going too close to the under eye area. He also suggested Restyle to fill up outer eye and corner of my mouth to make them look fuller.
Dr. Mabrie first poked several holes in the middle of my cheek then he used micro cannula to inject the filler. The filler has numbing agent in it. Even though I can feel the movement of the needle, the pain was very minimal. The injection was over before I even know it. After the injection, I hang around the mirrors to check for bruising and there was barely any. There was one small dot on each side of the face where the initial injection was made and small patch on the right corner of my mouth and both of which I can cover with minimal amount of concealer.
I also had my first Botox injection. Mostly above brow and slight below the outer brow. The Botox kicked in around the third day for me and I did experience a slight droop of the eye lid. Since Doctor Mabrie was on vacation, he prescribed me an eye drop which provides a temporarily lift of the eye lid. I went back to see him in August and he corrected the issue by giving me a few more shots between the brows. I was able to see the enhancement in a couple of days and had no other issues with Botox.
From my first contact with Dr. Mabrie's office, the communication was really good. All the staffs are very responsive and took a lot of pressure of the process.
I would definitely come back in a few months for touch up.
