Very Pleased With Results; Facelift at age 71! Needed to Address Sagging Neck and Jowls - San Diego, CA

There are many fine plastic surgeons in San Diego, and I have been to a few. For at least 10 years, I have been considering having a few procedures. However, I found that I could not commit to a surgeon. Each time I would get close to going through with a facelift, I would re-examine the 'before' and 'after' photos on the plastic surgeon's website, and though most patients looked appreciably improved, some did not. As a result, I continued to hesitate and the years passed.
I believe I was looking at the RealSelf site, when I saw Dr. Amir Karam's 'before' and 'after' photos. I was impressed by the consistently striking results. Dr. Karam is able to maintain the integrity of his patients' faces while each looked like a younger, more vital versions of themselves, and not someone else. In my view, Dr. Karam's facelift patients had improved their appearance to an astonishing level, while at the same time looking very natural.
I made an appoint to see Dr. Karam, based on his work and the positive comments that were posted. In Dr. Karam's office waiting room, two flat screen TV's continually loop 'before' and 'after' pictures of his patients. I saw one of my former colleagues in the photos and she looked wonderful. Dr. Karam specializes exclusively in facial plastic surgery and he greeted me warmly then spent time focused on listening and then explaining what he would work to correct those issues that concerned me. The staff is welcoming and friendly and I was asked if I wanted the phone numbers of some former patients to speak to and I indicated that I would. Those whom I called continued to be extremely satisfied by the procedures so I scheduled an appointment to have surgery July 22, 2015 and it has now been almost two months since I had a face and neck lift, fat transfer, and lazer around my mouth.
During the initial recovery period, Dr. Karam was with me every step of the way and was accessible to see him, when I had concerns that turned out to be effects of the healing process. Two days after surgery, I received two dozen magnificent roses from his office and that had a surprisingly positive effect on me. It was delightful to look at those beautiful roses while I was recovering. Eleven days after surgery, I had to leave town unexpectedly and had to contact Dr. Karam on a Saturday, to find out if I could fly so soon after surgery. I texted his cell, which he readily gives his patients, and received a response within a few minutes that it was okay to fly. Knowing that one's plastic surgeon is accessible and responsive, is worth a great deal to me.
It is now two months post-op and I could not be happier with the results. In fact, I could not envision such excellent results. I even feel as wonderful as I look which confirms how the mind/body connection operates. I recommend Dr. Karam with the highest confidence and I am extremely happy that I waited to find just the right plastic surgeon for me.

The bruises continue to diminish and I believe that Dr. Karam was able to achieve a natural look.

It has been almost 3 months since the facelift and I am still most pleased! A good amount of swelling is gone, a little bruising remains but can be covered with make up. Just hoping that the fat transfer remains to firm my skin.
