My entire life I suffered with a visibly deformed ear that not only needed reconstruction but needed to be pinned back as well. It protruded nearly 90 degrees from my head. I knew I was in for a surgery on this ear but what I didn't know is that they had to surgically work on my "good" ear so that when completed my ears "matched." Since I'd never done anything like this I didn't know what to expect and was very nervous. Dr. Pacella was not only very professional, he was caring, clear and articulate about the procedure and what the results would be. After my first consult both my mom and I felt much more comfortable about the whole process. On surgery day my parents told me that when they took me back into the operating room, one of the nurses pulled them aside and told them not to be worried if the procedure went longer than proposed. She explained that Dr. Pacella was very thorough and precise and wouldn't finish until the outcome was as close to perfect as could be. His anesthesiologist and operating room nurses were awesome as well. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pacella and Scripps Clinic Del Mar.

So happy for you :) if you are comfortable, would you please show before and after pics of your ears? You can obscure your other features to maintain anonymity, but it would be great seeing his work - a lot of surgeons pin back ears, but not many can do an actual reconstruction. Thanks again for sharing your story!
