Botox to Treat Me Chronic Tension/cluster Headaches

I have suffered from tension heads/cluster headaches for MANY YEARS. My primary care doctor had prescribed several medications to help control my chronic headaches. I was taking Nortriptyline nightly (used to treat headaches), and Sumatriptan to help relieve my severe headaches (migraine reliever medication). In addition I would take over the counter Tylenol and Motrin.
I was tired of getting tension headaches every week. I would get headaches at least 3 times per week. I felt that my headaches were correlated to a mix of different triggers, having a stressful job and at times my menstrual cycle. These headaches interfered with my quality of life. As a Registered Nurse manager, I knew about the benefits of Botox for the treatment of headaches. I decided to go see my plastic surgeon, Dr. Pousti, for Botox treatment. I was tired of taking pills to relieve my pain.
After discussing all the risk and benefits of Botox with Dr. Pousti, I was ready to try Botox for my chronic tension headaches. He was very gentle and only injected my forehead. This was the first time I had ever received Botox injections. The injections felt like little pricks, no big deal. I was informed that it could take about 5-7 days before Botox would take full effect. Dr. Pousti was right, by day 5 Botox had taken full effect, and I have NOT had my chronic tension headaches since my very first Botox injection from Dr. Pousti.
HE was GREAT with administering Botox for my headaches!!!!!!
I am headache FREE for over 1 ½ months!!!!! This has changed my life for the best. It has been years since I have experienced feeling like a normal individual who can enjoy life, activities family and friend without the interference of headaches getting the best of me. I am no longer taking any headache medications as well!!!!I am HAPPY, enjoying life, and I want to THANK Dr. Pousti for his gentle manner and great technique in Botox injections, he is a GREAT Plastic Surgeon!!! I would recommend him to any family and friend who would want Botox, as well as any plastic surgery (for example: mommy makeover, tummy tuck, lipo, breast lift and breast augmentation, those are the surgical procedures I had from Dr. Pousti and I am super happy with the results).
