How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

I noticed my double chin even at my thinnest (110 lbs.) in my early 20's. I am now 34, 30 lbs. heavier post 3 kids and very subconscious about it. I had been considering a cool mini for over a year, and finally decided that the time was now to get it taken care of.
Consult- I had my consult a week prior and met with a nurse. She was very thorough, talking me through exactly what to expect. She planned to treat me with 2 applicators, one on each side with central overlap. I felt confident enough to schedule for the following week.
Treatment day- I arrived and was ushered into a room with what looked like a chair that you'd sit in at the dentist. After she took a few photos, she drew on my chin for placement of the applicators with marker that easily came off after treatment by gently washing it. She had me sit back on the chair and ensured that I was comfortable with pillows and blankets, taking extra care with the position of my neck. Then rubbed this very messy gel all over my chin and applied the first applicator. She then strapped my head in, so I would not move. There was a mild suction, but nothing painful. Then she turned on the cold and initially (for about 10 minutes or less,) I was very aware of the cooling sensation, but then I went numb. It was not what I would describe as painful or even very uncomfortable...just different...maybe like a mild brain freeze in your chin? I sat like that and played on my phone and sent a few work emails from my iPad to pass the time. Before I knew it, 45 mins. were up and she was back in, removing the applicator. Then she put on gloves and massaged the area with lots of pressure. Initially, this was painless, but as my skin started to gain feeling back, it became very "achy" as she rubbed and for me, this was the most uncomfortable part of the process. Fortunately, it only lasted about 2 mins and was over. Then we did the exact same thing to the other side.
I left the office a little red, but that faded within an hour or two at the most and nobody noticed anything when I got home, My chin felt numb to the touch, and mildly sore, but overall, I would call the whole process very tolerable.
Day 1 post op- This morning I woke up and my my pain level is very low, just slightly sore and numb to the touch. My chin is also mildly swollen, which I assume I am more self conscious of than anything. My husband said he could "maybe" tell I was a little swollen after taking a long look, but wasn't certain. I have a very small amount of light bruising, but nothing that anyone would really even notice.
So far so good, I am anxious for results, and I will keep you posted as things progress.
