No Good Nose Job

Hey_renee70
$5,500

Big noses run in he family and mine was the worst! Wide bridge, wide and uneven nostrils and a ski jump nose tip. Several years ago, I finally decided I was getting a nose job, once and for all and chose Dr. Robert Young to do my Rhinoplasty.

Re~Do on my rhinoplasty, w/open septoplasty & left Nasal Valve repair

Hey_renee70
I am scheduled with a local board certified EENT and facial & neck PS. I learned that I have an extremely deviated septum AND a left collapsed nasal valve, which has continuously makes it difficult to breathe out of my nose. I do recall some blockage/air flow through my nose before my nose surgery with Dr. Robert Young. Like another person who consulted with him, I expected and should have insisted on some computer generated idea of what he would propose my nose would look like. Apparently, he chose not to have that technology available in their office, to his patients. He neither asked me about my breathing, questioned me thoroughly or told me he wouldn’t or couldn’t give me the nose, I anticipated or what to expect with my outcome based on my natural nose, I was born with. I have about 90% airflow through the right nostril and about 60% out of the left. I’m constantly wearing nose strips to bed and wish I could wear them during the day, so I can breathe properly. Those of us born with or acquired big, ugly and/or deformed noses, know what it’s like to be made fun and ridiculed by kids and adults, alike. He ended up doing a closed rhinoplasty after I was told he would be doing an open rhinoplasty and that he would fix anything structurally wrong. Obviously I expected too much. To finally being able to finance a rhinoplasty and to be let down by what I believe is a rushed and shoddy job by a Doctor who supposedly, noses, are one of his specialties, is beyond words. With this upcoming surgery, at least the left side of my nose will be widened a bit, to match the right side of my nose. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to breathe like a normal person and I’ll finally have a symmetrical nose, in which to do so.

Functional Rhinoplasty A Success

Hey_renee70
Dr. Shah with American Sinus Institute, who is also a board-certified facial reconstructive plastic surgeon, corrected my severely (with a 90 degree bend), deviated septum and nasal valve prolapse caused by too much cartilage being taken out by Dr. Robert Young.
