WORTH IT
Today was my second visit to Dr. Lawton's office to ask final questions about our expectations post surgery. I am a MTF person and had some particular questions about expected final results. After some serious discussion, I feel totally comfortable with his procedure and my confidence in him and his staff are very high. Both are wonderful. Even better, found out Dr. Lawton is an aviation fan as I am. Bonus! Now MTF breast augmentation is scheduled for 6 August 2018.

Procedure got done on Thursday the 9th due to my delay. I was the 1st patient of the day, show time was 0600 which was okay. Procedure was complete by 0930 and awake ready go got home. By 10:30 I had active bleeding for my right armpit. Dr. Lawton was immediately notified and I was recalled to the office where after a couple hour delay, I had to be reopened on the right side to have a leak fixed which was most likely caused by my spiking blood pressure from white coat syndrome and nervousness. Been 48 hours now with no problems. I hope to post pics here soon after swelling and bruising abate. Comments about staff will be made directly to Dr. Lawton next week.

I am an older ATP who has a second class medical. What do you do about your HRT and when did you disclose that to your AME? I am thinking of starting HRT after I get my next medical and will I have to report that sooner? I know I will have to declare my trans status on the next one after I start HRT, will there be any problem?

Thanks for the question and I understand about having to disclose about HRT. I am also older at 60yo going through MTF trans. I did not go the HRT route due to my age and the likelihood of the problems it would cause at my age. So to hopefully answer your question, I do not foresee any issues with the FAA or AME as long as none of the HRT have any side affects that would affect your ability to operate an airplane. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Thanks!

Where are the photos you said you would post last year? I am an MTF looking to see the results of fellow Transwomen, as I am definitely going to need an augmentation in a few years.

Never mind, I'm a dummy and didn't look far enough up. Your results are fantastic!

I am MTF trans and had 2 consultations with Dr. Lawton before my surgery for breast implants. He is very open and is very receptive to feedback. His skill as a surgeon is impeccable. His staff is very trans considerate too. I would recommend him to any trans person or anyone considering getting breast implants. Only gave him and his staff five stars because ten was not available.

Its been 6 weeks post op. and I am a MTF transgender woman. Swelling and bruising gone and zero pain issues. Had my 5 week checkup a few days ago and have great results with the breast augmentation. My implants are already settling in to the lower portion of the pocket and should be totally in place in 2 months. That's also when I have the 3 month follow up office visit. Adding a few pics too so please excuse the poor quality pictures, I am much better flying airplanes. Once again my total applause goes out to Dr. Lawton and his wonderful staff...…...Bree.
