Hi all! I'm a little nervous about all this! I've been debating a BA for the last 4-5 months now and hubby surprised me saying he wanted to get me boobies as a Christmas gift this year! I'm perfectly fine with my girls and self esteem I just would love to look more feminine and fit clothes a lot better- not to mention look good in a swimsuit!!! The thing I'm worried about is my weight and if it's going to be an issue with the operation or the outcome of my boobs? I have big thighs-lots of (muscle from military training/overall active childhood) and I have just the widest frame--broad shoulders wide rib cage and wide hips (no curves unfortunately). Also, I'm pretty short standing at 5'4". I've been looking around online and most women I see with BA's my height are thin petite and around 130 or less. (geez!) Lowest I've been is 140 in my adulthood. How important is weight-and with my weight should I be concerned about losing 15-20 lbs before even going in for a consultation?

Would appreciate your thoughts/experience!

Yay! Today I scheduled my consult- it will be Wednesday! I'm excited- the staff is super super friendly -both on the phone and over email! Professional and extremely helpful. I sent one of the receptionist a photo of my breasts and she was able to relay to the Dr. and give me immediate feedback on whether I needed a lift or not. Dr. said that I would not require a lift-didn't think I needed one. I let them know that I wanted Silicone. After seeing my photo he recommended silicone over the muscle. Great for me because it means faster recovery time and I also read that it's great for body builders and women that like to workout chest muscles. I understand the downsides of going with Silicone -especially with safety (rupture/breast abnormality detection because it will be above muscle) but I'm willing to take the risk. I decided to go with Silicone over Saline implants because overall I want a more natural feel. I don't want to look too big but I also want to be pleased. I'm not a fan of the larger incision due to the silicone implant but hubby said it isn't a big deal because it's not like I'm parading my bare breasts around for the world to see! :)

Anyway! POST OP is scheduled for Thursday the 27th and OPERATION will be FRIDAY THE 28th!!! Didn't think that it'd happen this quickly but honestly-if I don't do it now-I will likely put it off for years and years to come!!! WHY WAIT?!?!

Anyway! I was wondering if anyone else has a wider than average frame -chest? Interested to see how others' operations turned out! I plan to get to at least a large C/D.

Will keep you posted!

Yay! Thanks for starting your story on RealSelf. I don't think a little extra weight factors into breast aug, but ask at your consultation. You look pretty good in your photo.

Please keep us posted!

Thank you, Angie! I asked about my weight and they said that it shouldn't be a factor. My BMI is at 28% right now. I was just worried because most BAs I've seen online are very thin women! :/
