Hi, i have been looking over so many others posts & can't wait to start my makeover journey as well! I am 32 years old, 5'9" & 158lbs. I have 3 kids (11, 7, & 3) and am now ready to get this body rockin! I'm definitely wanting a mommy makeover. I just don't know how to go about finding the right Dr. Any tips would be appreciated. :) I live in Utah & would like to keep the surgery to the Salt Lake City or Las Vegas area.
Also, how do most of you handle getting the recommended 2 weeks off of work? What do you tell your boss? I definitely don't want my coworkers to know about my personal business.
Thanks for all of your postings & inspiration! Can't wait to start my journey!

I know Dr. Rodriguez in Las Vegas is wonderful! My friend had a consult with him last month and will be getting her mommy makeover soon! Good luck on your journey! I'm the same height and weight as you too! Maybe tell your boss you need time off for surgery. I think you could use FMLA- might want to ask your human resources person.

I understand that you don't want to disclose your personal business at work. I didn't either. I told work I was having a hernia and muscle repair. I had a full tummy tuck and breast augmentation. I think you will need a little longer than 2 weeks off work though. I took 5 weeks off and was only "just" ready to return when I did. Good luck and keep the posts coming!

Thanks for your advice! Really, 5 weeks?! Wow. I seriously am contemplating how in the world I'll be able to leave for 2! I think I'll only be able to take 1 week off completely & then work from my bed at home for the next week. There is no one at my job to replace me. I manage an entire department & have so many responsibilities I can't be gone very long. Does it really take that long to recover? I just have a desk job & would think sitting at a desk after 2 weeks should be fine. Am I totally wrong about this?

I hope I haven't put you off. I've had a very easy recovery (now 8 weeks post-op), and yep, I'd say 4 weeks minimum. I also have an office job. I found it very difficult moving around for the first two weeks. I didn't drive for 3 weeks and now have a hate for speed humps :-) I felt incredibly tired. I didn't suffer with much pain in the tummy, but breasts were very painful for me. The TT is an excruciatingly uncomfortable feeling rather than pain (lots of tugging, stretching, a feeling of a fist in your tummy and burning evry now and then). I read so many posts where some women don't seem to suffer too many after effects. Maybe I'm a big sook! I've had 2 Caesarean sections and an abdominal hysterectomy, so no stranger to tummy surgery. You will be fine and I'm sure you won't have any feelings of regret. I sure haven't. By far the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'd be interested to see other women's comments on their recovery and their recommended recovery time. Still go for it. It's worth EVERY cent :-)

How long of a recovery should I REALLY expect?

Seriously, I can't imagine taking off more than 2 weeks of work; but a lot of you are saying your recovery was much longer. Give it to me straight... How long before you were able to return to work at a desk job?

From what I hear, you can return to a desk job after 2 weeks, but it's tiring all the same. I will let you know as I go in on the 15th of May and I have a desk job that I will have to return to about a week after my surgery. I'm lucky enough to work at home, but I'll post in my review how sitting at my desk goes.

I am 10 days post op from BL/BA/TT and I went to Dr. J. Dayne Petersen in SLC/Murray area. So far totally happy with the results and he was very competitively priced (that was just a plus, not a deciding factor, I have friends who have amazing results from him which is a big reason why I chose him), and I absolutely adore him and his entire office. I trust him completely and would definitely go back to him if I needed any other work done. I'd recommend him in a second to anyone. I am paranoid and an over thinker and over planner and I would have a million questions for both he and his staff...and they never rushed me or blew me off...always took ample time to take care of anything I needed. Worth checking out!

Is it really worth the $ and risk?

C'mon, I am really contemplating spending $13,000 and practically cutting my body in 1/2 to remove some FAT??!! Is it really worth it? Or should I just be happy with the chubby curves my children have me? (Coming from a girl who has never had surgery, never broke a bone, not even had stitches... This is freaking intense & seems borderline psychotic to put yourself thru all of that. Maybe I'm just having a freak out moment?)

Eek, I keep having all the same thoughts. But I am going to go for it. I'm going to dr reuben in slc, but I've also heard good things about dr bindrup in draper.

I hope everything turns out perfectly! I'll be watching to see your results. I don't know who to go to for a consult. I'm still back & forth about the whole thing. Thanks for your comment.

It's worth every last cent and every bit of discomfort for a few weeks, and guess what... you can wear whatever you want without trying to suck it in. There are no negatives from my perspective :-)

Worth it and then some :)

You and I are about the same height and weight... and I'm extremely happy with my decision. Everybody's different, but two weeks seems to be ok for most people to return to a desk job... now here's the un-sugar-coated version :) ... I was a good 4 weeks before I could stand straight... not sure if he took lots of my belly or if the muscle repair was to blame... either way, the end result is awesome. I haven't posted recent pics, but I will soon so that you can see. I wish I'd have done this surgery years ago... it really is worth it. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
