Well I am now at Post Op Day #13. I had a visit to the Dr yesterday and got one of my abdominal drains removed. I am glad it was a fast process, but I still have one drain in for a few more days. My doctor does not like to pull the drains tool early. I started back to work today for a few hours. Sitting at my desk and leaning forward to do computer work was a little more of an effort then I thought. With one of my drains out I thought I would be able to try sleeping in my bed. I did not have much success as it does not feel good to lie flat on my back, my core feels too tight. So I am still in my recliner at this point. I think part of the discomfort about lying in bed has to do with the abdominal binder. Swelling is still present and I have resigned myself to that just taking a lot of time to go down. I am getting around ok, but I am anxious to start working out again. I feel lazy not doing much. Overall I am feeling pretty good at this point! Hard to think it has been 2 weeks. I am happy with the results and can't wait to be drain free!!!

Hey, i hope youre doing well. I wanted to ask you if you were able to get up and down ok after surgery? I am planning on being in my bed with lots of pillows (as far as i know i will not have muscle repair). Would you suggest renting a lift chair recliner? Anyone who reads and has suggestions would be appreciated.

Well post op day #8. Things are going well. I am more comfortable wearing a under amour compression shirt under the binder, it helps keep skin dry and not be sweaty and itchy. I still have both drains in and those are most annoying. I can't wait to get them out on the 25th hopefully. I live 2 hours away from the doctor so post surgery appointments are not as frequent as some may be. I am still sleeping in my recliner and will move to my bed once my drains are out. Pretty frustrated with amount of swelling and don't know what I can do differently to make it go down faster. I guess time is what it is going to take. I am still off work and will plan to go back once drains are out. I don't think I can hide them well enough to goto work and be comfortable. Swelling and pain from liposuction areas are a problem but bruising is going away.

Been a fairly good day as I am Post Op Day 5. I have managed to back off heavy duty pain medication almost entirely. I look forward to a daily shower where I can remove the binder and feel warm water. My abdomen feels numb still. The drains are a big pain in the butt when showering and putting on clothes. Helped that I saved some larger size clothing from the "old days". I have more swelling today as you can see from the new picture I posted. I am not sure if it is from not getting the binder as tight as they had it post surgery or what. I see the doctor on the 25th so should only have to have drains in until then. I am hoping that I can stay off any heavy pain medication. I am still sleeping in my recliner and trying to walk around the house more.
