Hi there. I am a 22 year old female, who is getting married in a year. Everyone knows that once you are in a happy relationship, you gain weight... I am no exception. I met my fiancé right out of high school almost 5 years ago and I put on 30 lbs. No big deal really, it was all sitting on my stomach, my arms, and boobs. I was too skinny in high school so I am by no means over weight, just got a little extra volume. I decided to try CoolSculpting to jumpstart my wedding body. I figured if I saw some results, I’d be more motivated to be healthier (backward logic, I know). I went into the consultation and the tech was extremely nice and knowledgeable. About a week later (yesterday) I got the procedure done, large applicator on the lower and mid abdomin. During the procedure I didn’t experience a whole lot of discomfort, even during the massage. It was mildly irritating but I didn’t moan or cry; I actually just carried on with conversation with the tech. I’ve got a very high pain tolerance and even the tech said I was the easiest client she’d had. The whole process took about two hours. I left pretty happy and feeling ok. However, after about an hour of being home my stomach started hurting very very badly. I expected some pain but this is debilitating pain. My stomach has also swelled up to about 3x the original size, again I expected some swelling but the other reviews and pictures I’d seen did not do this justice. From what I have been reading this pain I’m experiencing is not normal. Some people get mild pain three days after the procedure because the numbness started wearing off, while I got it after only hours. My body is obviously reacting differently than most. It is day two, I’m still bed ridden, unable to even sit up without crying. No pain killers are working, even tried taking some of the hydrocodone I never used from when I got my wisdom teeth out with no dull in pain. I’ve got work tomorrow and I just hope I will be able to push through. Just to reiterate, I do not think my reaction was normal. I do not think you will get this side effect. I am just posting so that I can get it off my chest, and possibly help the few others that may have this issue feel like they are not crazy. I am not sure if this pain is worth it or not. I guess I will find out in a couple months. I will update later.

Is the pain any better? Does the pain feel like abdominal muscles? I'm just ahead of you on day 19 post coolsculpting. For the first 3 days my abdominal muscles felt destroyed with a lot of pain and I couldn't even get up out of a chair or anything that used abdominal muscles. I was also VERY swollen. The muscle pain got better after about 3 days (then nerve pain hit) and the swelling has gone down a lot but still swollen. I'm not going to be one of those who sees results at 3 weeks I'm sure since it's 2 days away and still have nerve pain and swelling. I hope you are healing and feeling better!

That’s exactly what it was! I didn’t realize that is was my muscles hurting until the third day! I’m now of the 4th day, and as I woke up it was like a whole new world from the night before. Swelling is down A LOT, mild pain still, but I feel much better and this is totally manageable. Still nervous I’m going to get the nerve pain but after the past 3 days, I can’t imagine it being worse. I will keep posting updates!

I had pretty much the same issues and got really scared that I may have a bad mistake in doing this. But here I am 1 week post procedure and I am moving around normally. The swelling I had scared me to death. I too, was 3 times the size prior to the procedure. I can pit jeans on now where before I couldn't wear anything. I wore my spanks and my waist trainer all day long. Mind you I put my waist trainer around my buttocks to pull up the swollen area on my pubic area. Compression helps a lot. Another thing that helps a lot, is to massage yourself with oil. Good luck and keep us posted. You van see my photos already posted.

Muscle soreness... Day 3 Update

brooke.nicole
If you read my original posting, you know of the pain I felt for the first 2 days after the procedure. After some more reflection on the pain, I realized that it was not my stomach fat that was causing the pain, but my abdominal muscles. I am not sure why this procedure would effect my muscles, but it obviously did, and it was debilitating! It is now day 3, I woke up and it was like a whole new world. I was able to get out of bed, sit on the toilet, and waddle around which was major progress from the day before! The swelling at the beginning of the day was very reasonable but throughout the day the swelling did return. I was able to go to work at my office job with little issues. I do feel the numbness occasionally wearing off. It’s like an extreme “pins and needles” feeling, however I do not mind at all. I actually appreciate it because I hate the numbness. It feels like my stomach is floating on top of me and jiggling around.... it is seriously gross. I’m just hoping the muscle pain and the soreness to touch wears up soon. I just want to be able to wear some leggings to hold that jiggling fat in!

How are you going now with the pain? And did they do the post procedure massage?

Not much change from this update. Definitely better than the first two days, but I’m still uncomfortable. And yes they did the massage as mentioned in the 1st update.

One Week Update... Missing my pants

brooke.nicole
Alright, it is now one week post procedure and yesterday was the first day I did not cry regretting my decision. So big progress! That being said, I woke up today and my swelling is down dramatically and I’m feeling pretty good. My stomach is still sore to touch, but I’m hoping this will go away within the next week. I’m also hoping that today I can start working out again. I’ve been out of commission since the procedure and I have been eating horribly. I hope I didn’t set back progress too badly because of this week but I guess we will see.

I’m missing wearing pants, really bad. The one day I tried to wear some leggings to hold some of the numb jiggling fat in, when I took them off my entire stomach and hips (don’t know why) were yellow. Assuming it’s a gigantic bruise, I felt it was best to not wear leggings for a minute. When did everyone else be able to wear normal clothes without pain?

I’ll probably update next week. Don’t want to post on here too often!
