Hi there. I am a 22 year old female, who is getting married in a year. Everyone knows that once you are in a happy relationship, you gain weight... I am no exception. I met my fiancé right out of high school almost 5 years ago and I put on 30 lbs. No big deal really, it was all sitting on my stomach, my arms, and boobs. I was too skinny in high school so I am by no means over weight, just got a little extra volume. I decided to try CoolSculpting to jumpstart my wedding body. I figured if I saw some results, I’d be more motivated to be healthier (backward logic, I know). I went into the consultation and the tech was extremely nice and knowledgeable. About a week later (yesterday) I got the procedure done, large applicator on the lower and mid abdomin. During the procedure I didn’t experience a whole lot of discomfort, even during the massage. It was mildly irritating but I didn’t moan or cry; I actually just carried on with conversation with the tech. I’ve got a very high pain tolerance and even the tech said I was the easiest client she’d had. The whole process took about two hours. I left pretty happy and feeling ok. However, after about an hour of being home my stomach started hurting very very badly. I expected some pain but this is debilitating pain. My stomach has also swelled up to about 3x the original size, again I expected some swelling but the other reviews and pictures I’d seen did not do this justice. From what I have been reading this pain I’m experiencing is not normal. Some people get mild pain three days after the procedure because the numbness started wearing off, while I got it after only hours. My body is obviously reacting differently than most. It is day two, I’m still bed ridden, unable to even sit up without crying. No pain killers are working, even tried taking some of the hydrocodone I never used from when I got my wisdom teeth out with no dull in pain. I’ve got work tomorrow and I just hope I will be able to push through. Just to reiterate, I do not think my reaction was normal. I do not think you will get this side effect. I am just posting so that I can get it off my chest, and possibly help the few others that may have this issue feel like they are not crazy. I am not sure if this pain is worth it or not. I guess I will find out in a couple months. I will update later.Updated on 1 May 2018: If you read my original posting, you know of the pain I felt for the first 2 days after the procedure. After some more reflection on the pain, I realized that it was not my stomach fat that was causing the pain, but my abdominal muscles. I am not sure why this procedure would effect my muscles, but it obviously did, and it was debilitating! It is now day 3, I woke up and it was like a whole new world. I was able to get out of bed, sit on the toilet, and waddle around which was major progress from the day before! The swelling at the beginning of the day was very reasonable but throughout the day the swelling did return. I was able to go to work at my office job with little issues. I do feel the numbness occasionally wearing off. It’s like an extreme “pins and needles” feeling, however I do not mind at all. I actually appreciate it because I hate the numbness. It feels like my stomach is floating on top of me and jiggling around.... it is seriously gross. I’m just hoping the muscle pain and the soreness to touch wears up soon. I just want to be able to wear some leggings to hold that jiggling fat in!Updated on 5 May 2018: Alright, it is now one week post procedure and yesterday was the first day I did not cry regretting my decision. So big progress! That being said, I woke up today and my swelling is down dramatically and I’m feeling pretty good. My stomach is still sore to touch, but I’m hoping this will go away within the next week. I’m also hoping that today I can start working out again. I’ve been out of commission since the procedure and I have been eating horribly. I hope I didn’t set back progress too badly because of this week but I guess we will see. I’m missing wearing pants, really bad. The one day I tried to wear some leggings to hold some of the numb jiggling fat in, when I took them off my entire stomach and hips (don’t know why) were yellow. Assuming it’s a gigantic bruise, I felt it was best to not wear leggings for a minute. When did everyone else be able to wear normal clothes without pain? I’ll probably update next week. Don’t want to post on here too often! Updated on 14 May 2018: Meant to update on the actual two week mark but I am a couple days late. Whoops! From my last update the swelling is very minimal now, and I was able to wear my normal jeans for the first time yesterday with little discomfort! My stomach also doesn't hurt as bad anymore. The only things that is bugging me right now is; 1. The treated area feels firm or hard. It's not like it hurts, just a weird sensation. I have heard that this is a good thing though as the area is still inflammed and is getting all the dead fat, so I will put up with it if the result is as good as I hope it is! and 2. The treated area is still "numb" to touch. Just like the firmness, it doesn't hurt it's just weird. Overall, I am just glad my stomach doesn't hurt anymore and that I don't feel like a beached whale. Just waiting for the results now! I will update again next week!Updated on 8 Jun 2018: I lied about updating weekly... Anyways, we are about a month and a half post-procedure, I am feeling pretty good. Numbness is gone, all pain and firmness are gone, and I have noticed minor results. Patience is not my best characteristic, so I was expecting to notice more, but I think there is some little progress. I know it can take a couple months to work fully, but I really doubt I will see more than what I do right now. At this moment, paying $1100 for the procedure was not worth it. I might change my mind after a couple more months or once I see my before and after pictures at my follow up appointment at the end of this month.
