Very Severe Acne Scar Treatment - Salt Lake City, UT

ORIGINAL POST

So it's been almost three month since my treatment...

WORTH IT$3,400
So it's been almost three month since my treatment and I believe my scars will stay improve as is. During these months my life trajectory has changed dramatically, and I've never imagined that my scars could improve this much. (Actually I've never imagined it could improve ever...)

I've been panic about scars for many years but was suicidally panic about it since a year ago. My scars was very deep and covered a wide range of my facial area. I believe I got a mixed of every kind of scars that I can't really name them all, in one word, my scar is the worst worst among my friends and people I've ever seen. I felt extremely, horribly depressed and I lack of confidence because of my terrible scars.

I live in Boston, where there're some worlds best hospital. Among 3 doctors in three different hospitals I visited, all of them told me that fraxel restore is the only way to treat my scar, so for the past one year I had 10 sessions of fraxel restore treatment and as a result, there're no improvement at all!! The doctors kept saying that the actual effect of fraxel cannot be seen in 5 months after the treatment, also there're improvement it's just I can't notice if I look at the mirror everyday. bIG LIAR!! I was so depressed and every thought of dead. Everyday I can't do anything except searching online and browsing the forum and playing computer games. Finally I decided to choose dr. Taylor after seeing some huge improvements from his patients.

So flied over to the Salt Lake City from Boston, I finally met Dr. Taylor and his staff members. I told myself that this is the last time I've ever tried to cure my scars. If wont work I'll live happily with the severe scars. His office and staffs are extremely professional. Although he brought some visiting doctors from other city/country that made me felt nervous a little bit, I got to hear the discussion and better understood my scars and scars in general. After looking at my face thoroughly Dr. Taylor said: so you seems to have the right kind of scar to be treated. I could see the confidence in his face that I've never seen any back among doctors I saw in Boston. It seemed to me that dr. Taylor was excited to treat my scars because originally I wasn't planned to treat it immediately after visiting. However, dr. Taylor asked my availability the day right next to my visit (as he told he will be in France next week). To me certainly I would like to treat my scars as fast as possible and at any cost. Therefore I happily agreed to treat it.

The preparation and treatment and post treatment recovery was a long, long process that I've never experienced. Although in 2 hours I finished the surgery and in 7 days I could go back to Boston, every single moment during those period was memorable. Although doctor was extremely busy in France, he asked my conditions evey single day and sent me pictures in France... Anyway, speaking of the scars it improves a lot I mean I lot- to quantify - some 80% after three months of treatment. At least an obvious improvement can be seen that I've never ever imagined when I was treated by fraxel and my doctors in Boston. This significant improvement helped me build up confidence and found a job.

I still have scars, and still worry about it but it is much less noticeable and my busy working and living life occupied most of my time and there's really not much time to worry about that scars anymore. I've been in the forum or community for a very long time and never posted anything. While I still have scars, i thought I should continue my treatment and started to be an active member here at least to share my story. Speaking of my journey to Salt Lake City, Dr. Taylor's one treatment has given my skin a huge improvement and most importantly made me believe that even terrible scars are treatable. I hope i could cheer up people here screwing up by scars: Huge improvement could and would happen if you found the right treatment - even severe scars like mines can have significant improvement.

Thank you so much for sharing your personal journey, I am so happy that you decided to join in the community. Congratulations on your successful treatment! Can you tell us more about your procedure, what exactly did the doctor do to help your scars? Do you have any before and after photos to share with the community?

Hello! Your post was inspiring and made me so hopeful! I hope you will keep us posted on how this turns out for you! I have looked into this Doctor an am hoping I can be treated by him in the next year. Can you tell me where your scarring was on your face? Was the procedure painful? What all did he do? THanks!
Hi happy to share more about my story, I'm sure a trip to Salt Lake City would be worthwhile for you. I have all kinds of scars all around my temple and cheeks and they look terrible. The most remarkable improvement is the deep rolling scars I had. Speaking of the procedure it's not painful at all thanks to the anaesthesia. you can find the procedure here: http://www.realself.com/review/salt-lake-city-ut-acne-scars-treatment-acne-scar-treatment-subcision-fotoma my scar is less severe but in similar location and pattern.
Oh and how long before you were able to go outside/be in social interaction without getting crazy looks?
I think in two weeks I would be completely indifferent about my face but according to feedbacks there're still redness.
How long before swelling went down?
what kind of laser did he use?
Hi thanks for replying. The Laser is call Fotoma. But I think they also use fraxel repair.
