Hi, I am stressing out about the pain of this surgery- They told me no driving first 2 weeks & rest for 6wks. I have a very experienced vaginal/urology surgeon but i am still so worried & wanting to back out...
Any advice?
I have urge incontinence (peeing every hour except at night)- will this procedure help w/any of that at all?
How long did you need to take pain meds?
Will the tightening cause problems w/wetness or affect orgasms?
I do not have painful sex now but worried i will after this... :(

Do you have a picture of the rectocele? I am wondering if that is what I have but I'm not sure. It might be silly but I am quite self conscious of it. I also find it is difficult to keep really clean. It is like a little sac of tissue outside of my rectum. Thanks and hope that isn't TMI :)

i do not. i too am super self conscious of it so i did not take a pic. sorry. i had a lot of skin around rectum and i had a sac kinda too but they were hemorrhoids and he had to actually remove 2 during surgery b/c they were in the way! I will tell you that every time i tried to have a bowel movement- it felt like it was pushing out my vag so it was hard to eliminate...so that is basically what a rectocele is/feels like- when u push down and your vag pushes out more w/pressure.... i was starting to lose my bowels too b/c it had gotten so loose w/births! :( i wonder if your sac is hemmoroids or it could be a bad rectocele where your rectum is coming out your vag all together..?? i got it repaired- and doing much better-still healing though and having to take stool softners now....google Rectocele and there will be tons of images to view... good luck. hope that helps!

Thank you for sharing something so personal. I have always been to embarrassed to ask. I appreciate your honesty. Good for you with your rejuvenation. I am a little freaked out about anything being done "down there". I know it seems crazy but I feel like it would hurt so much. I did not have any vaginal births (that freaked me out too lol...) but I had two c-secions for my twins and singleton 11 months apart.

Had surgery. went well. 4 wks post op now. I am finally getting around better, cooking dinner/ light housework.
If you have this surgery- allow about 3 wks to rest/ sitting was difficult b/c of rectum repair...so have a donut seat avail, long panty liners, and peri-colace avail at home before going into surgery...
I did not get a bladder sling- b/c i have urge incontinence and this surgery did help w/that so far.
I am not thrilled w/outside rectum results but i am thankful it is all tightened up and i am having relief w/bladder issues and going to bathroom every hour before! Stitches are still healing and a bit itchy w/some normal discharge and light bleeding (on wk 4) . I was off pain meds day 5 b/c they made me constipated- only had to take reg. advil every so often if i did to much that day.... no sex till wk 6.
My dr. was awesome- although i did not have a mesh/or sling that needed to be removed - they have called my dr. the Mesh (removal) warrior... St. Louis. ppl fly into see him...
I had met my deductible so insurance paid for most of it- i had to pay for cosmetic part only. :)

I understand you're very concerned about how sex will feel after this procedure, RealSelfer brandnewvagina1 talks about this in her review, she tell us "I had sex!! I had sex!!!!
A few times actually. First time was really tight and relatively painful, at the end once I was super turned on it wasn't painful anymore." [full review]

Will you be having a labiaplasty as well?
thanks, I did check out her review! :)
