I am a 58 year old recently divorced woman. For years I have been flirting with the idea of having my eyes "done", an upper blepharoplasty, and stomach liposuction.
In October I scheduled a consultation with Dr. David Caplin of Parkcrest Plastic Surgery in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Caplin has an unparalleled reputation in our region. Upon meeting him he was warm, personable, easy to talk to, and inspires confidence. More importantly, I felt like he had the surgeon’s skill and the artist’s eye to achieve the fresher, subtle result I desired.
Parkcrest Plastic Surgery has a discreet office. His staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. I scheduled my surgery for February 2016.
I was going to have a combination of procedures: an upper blepharoplasty with temporal brow lift, fat grafting in strategic spots on my face, Smartlipo to remove my double chin and a large volume liposuction on my stomach, flanks, and upper back.
I did not have any anxiety related to the choice of my doctor. I felt like I was in safe hands and comfortable in my decision. Because of the large amount of fat/volume to be removed, Dr. Caplin suggested I spend the first night in an aftercare facility. I received fabulous care; it was quiet, restful, and clean. The nurses were professional and reassuring.
Dr. Caplin was very realistic in his description of the stages of healing. I had very little bruising and was taking SinEcch to aid with bruising and swelling after surgery. I had virtually no pain associated with my facial procedures, however the core lipo was pretty painful for the first 48 hrs. Day 7 I had extreme itching on my upper eyelids. I thought I might be allergic to the surgical glue. After calling the office, Dr. Caplin saw me that afternoon. They could not have been more accommodating.
Parkcrest Plastics has a lymph drainage massage therapist associated with their office (Brandon Schuessel). I think it is a way to heal faster and more comfortably. I had about 5 sessions and an unexpected bonus is that my complexion has benefited from the massage!
8 weeks out from my surgery I am delighted with the results. My experience has been a 10/10. I feel younger, with more pep to my step! I would say it has been fun to see the younger chick again!
