Hello everyone my name is Lori I am 35 years old, I have 3 amazing children. I also have a tummy that has not every been exceptable to me. I will be showing before and after pictures very soon.

I went to my pre-op appt today not what I thought it would be, it was pretty simple just paperwork, paying for procedure, the do's and dont's or pre and post surgery, signing papers and then off to lab for blood work. I thought for some reason they do a EKG. And why am I not getting a garmet after sugery??? That is one question I forgot to ask. Any advice from anyone having experience with full TT and Lipo to Flank and Scapula is welcomed. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Lori! i myself only did basic blood work. That is pretty common actually unless you have a history of something that may lead to complications...or if your over 50 then they do EKG, etc. My only question I would dig into a little if I were you is the garment part. I had a tummy tuck with lip to flanks (love handles) and also my inner and outter thighs. They have me in a full compression garmet that is a full length- meaning from my ankles up to my bra line (zips and buckles at sides) and I also have a white CG that wraps around my tummy that hits just below hips for added support. I did ask my plastic surgeron why there is so much controversy over compression garments and although I don't recall exactly what he said, it just made sense to me why they DO have you wear them. Maybe you can do a search on here or post a question for doctor to ask doctors on here. I am excited for you!! I remember I was a nervous wreck the day before surgery thinking what in the hell am i getting myself into. And although you have your up's and down's...as long as you keep ahead of your pain meds and litterally chart when you last took them and when you should take them next...you will be good. The first day your so out of it...second day is probably worse...and by third day things are starting to get better. In all honesty, I was expecting it to be worse than what it has been...so I'm happy! Not that I would do this again and again...but if I had to go in later for revisions or anything, I wouldn't bat an eye. I'm here if you have any questions what so ever. Take care!

Thank you Happy TTmommy, I sincerely love knowing that I can actually talk with people that have already done this. Thanks again for your experience and kind words of encouragement.

My surgeon took lots of pictures pre op, no EKG , just labs. Measured me for compression garment and brought it with him for my surgery. Best wishes to you. Call them if you have ?s, better to ask before surgery, not after!

Welcome to the community.

Not all doctors order an EKG so don't panic about that.   Also, not all doctors require the abdominal binder or garment after surgery.

Keep us up to date on how everything is going.

November 25, 2012
Ok good thank you Kimmers. Everyone is always talking about binders, made me a little nervous, Dr's office staff clearly stated I would not be getting one. Only 11 days until surgery. I will post pics day before then asap after surgery. So damn excited, scared, and happy all at once. I love the fact that I can hear everyone's experience as well as share mine. Way too cool, sure does make me feel like I'm not doing this alone. Thanks for responding.

Oh you are not alone at all:)  We are all here for you through this process.   The count down is on!!!

I never wore a binder and my tummy turned out perfect!!!

Hi Kimmers I'm 6 days post op and totally excited to see the final results, which I've heard take 6 months to a year for swelling to go away. I am very pleased with what I look like already. I put on a pair of cotton exercise pants and was wowwwwed by my flat tummy. This really is a dream come true for me. My husband has been beyond awesome lots of TLC. I'm going to attempt photos today.

are you using a C Garment My PS acted like it was opptional too
December 14, 2012
No garmet. My Dr. says it serves no good purpose, garmets don't let the scar breathe. Totally glad I don't have to wear one.

Mine told me to wear mine during the day for added support but take it off at night as long as I sleep on my back
December 14, 2012
Maybe your garmet has something to do with having a vertcal cut. A lot of people wear a garmet, so I think I was the exeption on this site to not have to wear one, that's why I inquired. Congrats on your TT. It feels so good to have that excess junk removed.

I see Dr. Longo next week. Why did you only rate his bedside manner a 4?
December 14, 2012
Hi alsj, it could have easily been a 5, he made some joke on my 2nd post op visit, I think I was being a little sensitive. Honestly You're going to love Dr. Longo If you have not been there yet, plan on you're first visit being verrrry educational (long). He will do most (all) of the talking. You will love the Staff Janeane is amazingly available and helpful. I had lots of questions the week before surgery, I was crazy nervous. She always made me feel like my questions were valid and comforted me. Enjoy!! I think our Dr. really loves what he does and loves making us look beautiful. If you have any other questions I'm right here for you.
December 14, 2012

Thank you Suzanne. things are going good. I still struggle with over eating. Over all though I've made progress with it. Everyday is a new day to try to stay conscience of what i;m eating , I joined the gym haven't been in over a week. I guess I'm back on this site looking for support and inspiration. You were definitely what I wanted to look like after TT. You look fabulous . Hope things are well with you.
