I had a necklift done 3 weeks ago. My lower face and under my chin and around my ears look great!!! . But my neck is red and feels like I have a really bad sun burn. I have no idea if this is normal or not. I see the doctor again in a week. I hope to have some answers then. It is very hard to go around hiding my neck when this procedure is supposed to make me feel better about myself :(

3 1/2 weeks after neck lift

I'm feeling pretty good. Overall I'm pleased. I still have a couple concerns . I will talk to the doctor Thursday. The redness in my neck is disappearing but there is a weird ridge under my neck when I move a certain way and a little fullness when I put my head down. Not sure if this will be better over time or not. I hope so :)

I am 59, I had a lower face/neck lift 10 weeks ago.
I had the same ridge on one side. There is a slight pucker in my chin scar and the skin wants to fold, causing the ridge. I saw my surgeon at six weeks post and talked to him about my concern with this issue. (I was making myself crazy worrying about having to live with this or being cut on again). My surgeon recommended putting light pressure on the scar while massaging the area. He reassured me the scar would flatten out and the area will get tighter and smoother. I can see this happening. The ridge is shorter and smaller. I have had my massage therapist work on the area twice.
Many reviews minimize the healing process. The area under my chin is still very sensitive. I can see it taking 6 months or longer to fully heal.
Hang in there, things will get better. You really do look beautiful.

I had the same issue with the scar. It is getting better. I also put scarguard on it at not to help soften the tissue. Healing does take much longer than I thought. I'm almost to 6 months and I still feel some tingling from time to time, but for me the procedure was well worth the healing time.

How is that ridge looking? What has your dr. suggested to get rid of it? Did you only have a necklift with a chin incision or did your include a lower facelift with stitches around the back of the ears?

I had both done. Both procedures have loosened up some. I didn't expect it this soon but is common I guess. Everyone's skin is different. The ridge is gone. It was just part of the healing process. Full healing can take up to a year. I would still do it again. The turkey skin directly under my neck was why I had the procedure done, not for a facelift, and it is gone completely. Hopefully for good.. Lol

Good to hear Kimberly. Same here, I had lower face and neck because of a platysmal band turkey neck a week ago. I've got lumps and bumps as I'm healing but the neckline is amazing, so happy to be rid of that horrible mess! Its reassuring to hear it just keeps getting better. :)

Hi, I feel I have a similar thing under my chin when looking down. It looks like fat or so. I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and also concerned. So yours dissolved completely? How long did it take? As long as I know it is just temporary I can handle it. I only see my surgeon in 4 weeks again and I am sure I didn't have that thickness at my 3 1/2 week post op appointment. Thank you

I had this done 5 mo. Ago. I had same ridging. I am scheduled in June for revision. Still seeing changes of course. Wondering what you wound up doing? Did you also have some lipo or no. Thanks and hope all is well.
