About 3 years ago a doctor pointed out that my eyelids have started to droop and ever since then, that is all I notice! My eyelids became hooded as the years went by, especially when I smiled. This is something that is in my genes. My poor mother's eyelids come out past her eyelashes! So, we both decided to go in for a consultation together (this way I could show where I was headed). I took some time to research good facial doctors in the Sacramento area, and found Dr. Toft. He and his staff are amazing! He spoke with both of us about what he could do (free of cost!). Well, to make a long story shorter, I scheduled my eyelid surgery and mom scheduled her eyelid/face lift!!
PreOp: I was sent a booklet of information to go over. When I can in to the office for my pre op, they went over all this information with me. I felt comfortable and had all my questions answered. Jen, makes this process so much fun and easy!
Day of Surgery: I show up for my surgery already in a happy mood (they make you take a Valium 30 min. prior to your appt). The staff brought me back to the surgery room and got me into a gown. They placed an IV in and prepared me for my "happy juice". And let me tell you, this stuff made me so comfortable and loopy! From there, Dr. Toft came in, snip snip, sew me up, and I was good to go! Literally! The whole procedure took maybe a total of 20 mins!!! I rested for about 15 more mins after that, and was sent home. It was by far the easiest surgery I have ever encountered!
PostOp: Once home, I was religious about my frozen peas (20 mins on/20 mins off) for the first three days. This kept the swelling down and gave me no bruising. Nothing hurt so I didnt take any of my pain meds. I think the hardest part was sleeping propped up. On the 4th day I started to noticed that I was becoming very itchy. And by the 6th day, the itching had become unbearable and was keeping me up all night. Thank goodness my Post Op appt was the following day, because I found out I was have an allergic reaction to the ointment I was applying to the lids ;-/ Dr. Toft removed my sutures and said to discontinue the ointment. From that day forward, I have itched, hurt, bruised....basically, this is an easy process.
Results: I am so excited to see the end result, but so far I am very happy. Now, most people I talk to have said they don't see any different. But I have included photos that show differently. I will keep you all updated as I continue to heal!

Those folks must be blind!!!
Because it's obvious how amazing your eyes are looking now! Beautiful big eyes!! It was most definitely worth every penny;) itching is standard part of healing, of course except if u're having an allergic reaction as u described. I'm truly amazed how much a little eyelid surgery can change... Was it general anesthesia or just twilight? (English: were u put into sleep or just woozy?) Congrats and wish u a happy new year!

You Look wonderful!! I have been wanting the same surgery but have been scared of going to the wrong doctor. I live in Lake County Ca which is not far from Roseville. In fact I go to the disc golf courses in your area a few times a year. I see that your mother is getting the procedure as well. any information you care to throw my way from your experiences I would be most grateful to have. Thank you. Happy New Year and Happy New You!

I absolutely love Dr. Toft! I also like the fact that he only works on faces :-) This procedure was by far the easiest procedure I ever done! My number too is be religious with the frozen peas. Kept the swelling down and no bruising. Don't hesitate to contact me with any of your concerns and I'll share what I know. Good luck!

Your results are AMAZING. I have a question thought, I have the SAME look as you before surgery ..and I was wondering how long I would have to "hide out" in the house??? Two weeks? If I had to go in a grocery store..could I do it in a week?

Oh girl! I went to work (my real estate office) on day 2. I wore my sunglasses the whole time, but felt great. The incisions almost look like pink eyeshadow. I think the only noticeable thing was the ointment.
