I have always been a thicker girl, after pregnancy...

I have always been a thicker girl, after pregnancy I gained a significant amount of weight, but it wasn't evenly distributed; it was mostly in my stomach area, I started working out and eating healthy the fat melted off my face, my arms and legs were defined and my stomach....was still there. I was unportionate, it got in the way of certain exercises, I found obstacle racing as motivation and fun work outs but when climbing over 6ft walls (by myself) my belly would pinch... It was depressing. I didn't want to get lipo because I didn't want to the hard work to earn a flat belly, I wanted it because I felt like my stomach was just so out of por portioned that I needed it. I did my research and I went to a few places and got quotes. One place the dr wasn't a plastic surgeon, he was an internist I didn't feel he had the expertise that I was looking for, I didn't even meet the dr, the cost was just a little cheaper than the place I chose, I went to sonobello, I got a great quote but only had a few days to book that price, I didn't meet a dr and the girl who seemed nice didn't really seem genuine. I saw a few years ago in tv with our local news station elite body sculpture; I made an appointment and got a Saturday appointment; I requested Dr Hagstrom. He was nice he asked me what I wanted and I could tell immediately that he knew my issue and what I wanted. He told me that due to my shape and how much fat I have that he could do it (remove my stomach fat) but I would have lose skin and I would need to decide later if I want a tummy tuck. They also mentioned that I should do the bra roll and showed me why, but that it was entirely up to me. It was quick, he asked if I had anymore questions and I didn't. I met with the office manager and she gave me the price quote, she was very sweet and said that if I had any questions I could ask her personally, she was very genuine and not pushy. I ended up booking with them around 2 weeks later due to researching the other places and researching the dr as well.

The day of surgery I wasn't nervous until an hour before my procedure... They were running late due to the previous patient, and got a curteosy call to come an hour later, we were on our way already so we just stopped at a store and walked a little, once we got there I signed the papers and was escorted to the back. The front desk girl Jennifer was very helpful through out this process as well anytime I had a questions I would email her and she would be very helpful and correspond. Angie was my nurse and she too was very helpful and sweet, I didn't feel judged, they were all friendly, I am used to people judging me by my weight. I gave them a hard time about the pictures part lol but I'm glad they did because I want to see the difference. They gave me my meds and then a bit later I went to the procedure room.

I was given the nitrous and the dr cleaned the places he was going to work on, he did the punch biopsy holes and they were painless, the tumescent either tickled a lot where I laughed or a little bit uncomfortable but it didn't hurt. When Dr Hagstrom used the Airsculpt he did a great job, most of it tickled (I would laugh a little bit uncontrollably, haha) some of it stung. I was able to talk but I was getting emotional because this was finally happening, also the meds probably had something to do with it.
Once the procedure was done I was pretty tired and just wanted to sleep, the nurse put on my compression garment and got me dressed then walked me to the recovery room where she put an iv on. After awhile I was walked out to the car. We went to the pharmacy and I felt a little naucious and the up a little, I got home, took my meds and went to sleep.... I got horrible sleep, I think it had to do with the Vicodin, it made me itch horribly, yes I was sore but the itching was the worst! I didn't do much the following day, just cat napped and ate a little, took the meds as prescribed. As usual I swelled and the garment was squeezing my rib cage like something terrible. I delt with it, the night came and again I got no sleep because of the Vicodin I itched like crazy. I took a shower a bit earlier than I planned because i needed to get out of the garment and use the bathroom, the hole was not made long enough to go back there if you know what I mean... The shower felt great, I noticed right away there was a difference, not much drainage at all. I put on a spanx while my garments washed and dried. I felt good, was sore and decided not to take the Vicodin I just couldn't stand the itching to I took some arnica, and aleve, seemed to help, at night before bed I took a Tylenol 3 that I had from when I had my wisdom tooth removed. I called their exchange but they were not open. I slept much better last night. Although they were not open today (Monday) Angie returned my message and told me I could unzip the top of the compression pants which helps a lot, she said if I had anymore questions I could contact her. I guess my only complaint about the business would be that they do not have an on call person for the weekend. I will keep you guys updated with my progress.

Dr. Hagstrom was very attentive to my needs and he understood what my goal was, he has excellent bedside manners and very compassionate. He explained to me what he was doing and then did his craft. I would recommend anyone who is looking for this procedure to go to him. He made me fee comfortable. Which means a lot to me.
