Looking good, feeling better

WORTH IT$5,000
My face is all healed, my legs are doing ok. Boobs! I have them for the first time in 10 years, they were withered little fried eggs. My batwings are gone and my arms are amazing. Happy days!

better all the time

finally got the incisions to stay closed, hopefully this is the last time. I have had to struggle mostly with depression, my main problem is sitting still. The long thigh lift surgery has a longer recovery time than I was prepared for.
Good news is the lower jaw face lift is looking pretty awesome

Your face/jaw lift looks absolutely amazing!
I think from everything I've read, depression post op is completely normal. I'm less than 24 hours from my TL and I've written a series of notes for myself in advance so that I can remind myself as I'm in recovery that depression is expected and completely normal … and fortunately temporary. We need to keep our beautiful chins up and be patient. :-) I hope you are feeling better about your TL and that things are closing up as they should. I'll be in touch PO. Wish me luck …
I know you are right. I am just lonely, and freaked out about the cost and the complications. But I am making myself get up get dressed, put on my make up, sit in my old lady recliner (it's the same as the one Mom sat in when she was recovering from her stroke) and remind myself this too will pass. I am on day 4, at day 7 we can breathe and believe that the stitches are going to hold if I take it easy. My post op complications are rare, and fixable-they just take time. Don't worry, I wish you luck and you will be fine!
I am happy to hear that your spirit is up... A mom recovering from a stroke??
I am referring to the hospital lounge chair they keep me in whe I am not in the bed. My Mom has passed but it is exactly the same kind of chair she used to sit in in the extended care...doesn't make me feel vibrant and lovely! But it is a way to sit by the window and not be in bed
Best of luck to you! Will be praying for your recovery. It's a step closer to better days to come. Dr. Has a very good reputation.
Thank you! I am better, I just have a little immolation now around my R knee. I am very happy to be off bed rest and have to remember to take it easy. He is a wonderful Dr and my legs and face turned out very nicely.
So glad to hear you're off bed rest! I've been in bed for nearly 4 weeks PO because I pulled a muscle 2.5 weeks after surgery. I was doing great and then boom, pulled muscle and unable to walk. Uggggh. Trying to keep my spirits up. I can see where depression casts a long nasty shadow while being bedridden. :(. Glad you're up ... That gives me hope. Share photos when you can. Hope a SAFE and COMFORTABLE trip to Europe is in your future soon.
Are you still in Mexico? I though you were mere recovering at home!
Hi berniedeeperson, are you feeling better?
ORIGINAL POST

I had recently retired, divorced and had lost over...

I had recently retired, divorced and had lost over 100 pounds over the past 15 years. I am aging well, in good shape and decided to do this for myself because I had worked out, ran a couple miles two or three times a week but had loose skin and didn't like my legs. They were ugly, I had saggy pockets of cellulite on the back of my thighs and a fold of skin that sort of hung down on my knee. During the surgery the doctor took 3 inches of loose skin and 3 pounds off each thigh.

I have not felt any serious pain at any point.I had a lower jaw face lift done at the same time with incredible results, almost no bruising and minimal swelling. After only 3 weeks the scars and swelling are barely visible and I look 15 years younger. I did not follow his directions as thoroughly as I should have regarding bed rest I felt so good. I got up and walked more than I should have and even planned to fly to Europe two weeks post op. Needless to say, the corner of the wounds reopened at the T and we are having a heck of a time getting them to stay closed.

Uh oh...that's not good. Sorry your having some problems with this. My issue was a little different. I had a thigh lift in the groin area and my body rejected the stitches pushing them to the surface one by one. That was a pain (literally) and now I have to get it redone with the vertical incision...uugh. the upside I guess is that I only need about a 5" scar instead of to the knee. Thank you for sharing your story. i wish you luck and happy healing
How aré you feeling? Is your recovery better?
yes, they closed up the open wound again yesterday. Dr. Gongora is keeping me in the clinic to ensure that I stay on complete bed rest and the wound stays clean. From what I read I think I am fortunate, I don't know if this is a surgery that has more complications, but reading about what other people have gone though, I am glad I am here. I have been pretty depressed I had planned to be in Europe by now, and have had to delay that for another month. But if the stitches hold this time maybe by November I will be on my way again. This is the 3rd time the Doctor has closed the wound. Each time he has to wait for the inflammation to go down. I have had no pain though at any point in this process, and the long scars on my inner thighs are healing beautifully. My legs look lovely.
I am glad you aré feeling positive at least the way look, because that will give you motivation. Staying there is the best decsitiob, being All the way in Europe will be risky.hang in there. My advise will be do not read to much in internet, you are in good hands and just pay attention to what he said. I read a lot in internet when I was recovering and I was alarmed for nothing because dr always told me to stay calm and that everything was ok, and he was right. Be patient, this will take time to heal, and you will look beautiful!!
THANK YOU.I had some real rough days, but Dr Gongora and his staff are very gentle, very reassuring that this just happens sometimes and is fixable. My family is far away in Alaska and Europe except for my niece who has been great, hanging in here with me all the way, even with a 5 year old at home. I have been kind of embarrassed to call my friends as I expect the "I told you so" why were you not satisfied with what you had type response. My friends all tell me I should be grateful that I am in as good as shape as I am, so I am not calling them. I feel in a way like my friends and family feel like I deserve this for coming here and having this surgery in the first place.
I can relate, people will not understand when is About cosmétic surgery, and they will not understand that you went to TIJUANA to have the procedure. What do they say? Is a time frame to see if the stitches will be successful attached? Are you taking vitamins or something to make the skin stronger perhaps? Just be positive and calm, I can even imagine how are you feeling..:( Dr has a lot of experience and you will be ok, you do not have infection or something worst, just give it time to your body to heal, is not much that you can do. You are blessed this happened when dr was still at your reach and not back in Europe, can you imagine that?!
yes, I am,my brother in Hungary pointed that out, although Dr. Eduardo has found a surgeon there who is qualified to do my follow up and he has corresponded with her, so she will be waiting for me when I do arrive in Budapest. I do take many vitamins everyday, drink protein shakes, and am supplementing with extra vitamin C. Dr. also has me on a low fat diet as he believes high fat diet slows the recovery, I asked about the compression garments and he said not until 3 weeks post op because of increased risk of thrombosis. I have purchased Spanx tights and leggings to wear on the plane which will be hot leaving Mexico but fine on the plane. There is a lot of prejudice about TJ which is too bad, but hey I guess it keeps the prices down. I would rather get this done here than in the states. I had a tummy tuck done in the states and my doctor told me to recuperate at home, the hospitals are filthy. My mother got MRSA in the intensive care of one of the best hospitals. I have been to TJ many times to get dental work done and received compliments on the crowns from my dentist at home. I have travelled in Mexico for years and I understand why some people would see only the poverty, and not look past at the downtown Tijuana which is really a beautiful city. The Genesis clinic is a very first class facility.
How aré you feeling? Please update us in your recivery
Hi. Your face looks great! How are your thighs? Can you share any pictures of the whole thigh? I'm trying to find a doctor who can give a nice, natural and smooth contour to the thighs, without too much scar visibility. Thank you
I am better but still have inflammation and swelling around the knee and my ankle on my right leg. My legs are beautiful and I am sure Dr Gongora could have a pleasing result for you. I will have him to send me his before and after shots so you can see. I had my arms and a breast lift with augmentation 3 weeks ago, with amazing results. I lost over 120 pounds over the last 5 years, all the excercise in the worldn't have helped. Now I have tiny little arms a am a C cup again. He is a very nice man, and has medical from Universities coming from all over to learn from him. He is very skilled. I didn't realize how self conscious about my naked body I was. I thought it was just how it had to be. I am very grateful to he and his staff, I was on bedrest due to the complications from the thigh lift inpatient at his clinic for 3 weeks so I have a pretty good idea who they are. Even though the complications were from me being too active too soon (bedrest means you are in the bed all the time, who knew?) he didn't falter and took care of me. Having these surgeries is big decision but I do recommend him. Just keep in mind your body will need time and rest to recover it is a major surgery.
I will post a picture of my scars too. They are fading pretty fast. I will have them, but they won't be that noticable
So nice yo hear from you! I am so glad you aré well! I was concern About your recovery.
Thank you. I was so exhasted after the last surgery I could bring myself to even look at my computer. Just sleep. I got gastritous from being on strong antibiotics for so long. That just wiped me out. My neice got me some probiotics which really have helped. I am still very weak
Still??? Bless your heart. How is your health and your well being? Are you feeling better? Are you optimistic seeing the results?
oh yes, the result is so good the doctor asked me to come and pose for nude pic s. I am better every day if I get rest and get all my protein. Thanks for your support!
Your face lift looks great! Any chance of posting before and after pics of your thighs, would be greatly appreciated.
