How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Photos before and 8 days later

Not the prettiest of sights but here are some pictures the day of surgery and 8 days later after the stitches were removed.

5 days on

The day after surgery the Dr's said I looked beautiful, this with enormously swollen lips, hair in a knot on top of the head with compression bandages and iodine stained skin they have an odd idea of the lovely. However 2 days later I was black, blue, yellow turning green and starting to swell up and sore, so in comparison.....Sleeping in a semi-prone position to help with facial swelling.
Now 5 days post surgery the lips have reduced by 50% and there's only a bruise on the upper lip (thankfully as it was very odd trying to drink with them being numb and rubbery), the bruising around the cheeks and eyes has almost gone. There's some spectacular bruising on the flanks but suddenly last evening I began to swell all over. This happened last time, its just water retention telling me I'm sitting too much and not drinking enough so this will be remedied today .
I have an appointment to see the Dr's on Monday to remove the stitches and get an overall assessment and I hope to get the photos sent on to post here.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed their experiences to this site or I wouldn't have been so confident and positive about going ahead .
The surgeons do this every day and know what to expect and how things will go but for us its usually a 1st and its nice to understand every angle, good, bad and amazing.

2nd Day After Surgery and a Tip for Those Who Stay in a Hotel After Surgery

2nd day and the bruising has appeared, I am in full technicolor from the chin to collar bone with a black upper lip and purple below each eye above the cheek bone where the fat was transferred to. The ice packs have taken a lot of the swelling out and the arnica gel and pills are also making a difference. I have the egg timer set for 30 minuets so I get up and wonder around to stop from getting stiff and to help with the fluid retention.
I read that some people have been charged huge laundry fees because they have seeped blood and fluids on to the bedding. I was worried that I would leave blood marks on my own sheets but a friend who has children showed me in the nappy section of the supermarket a pack of flat nappy sheeting about 24 inches square which is usually used when training young children to be dry at night, but accidents will happen. This solved my worries and the pack of 15 were more than enough as I only leaked one night.
Hope this is some use to others who share the same concerns.

Both Dr's are caring, kind and calming as well as knowledgeable and "will tell it as it is" which I appreciate (rather than been told to expect something that just isn't possible).
