Hi! I have been trolling (lol) this site for the past 2 years and am finally ready to take the plunge. Surgery is in 3 days! Yikes! I am all researched out but am still having significant anxiety over this. My take away is this -- everyone is different and heals at different rates so you just don't know how it is going to do until you get it done. :-) It doesn't make it any easier, though. My biggest concerns are my mobility and it not being noticeable. Like many on here, I am only sharing the news with a select few. I researched Doctors extensively and settled on Dr Kerr. He has a wonderful bedside manner and I just love his staff so I know I made the right decision. I was told that I am a good candidate and my results should be amazing. We'll see on 30 Jun, huh? :-) Even before having my 2 beautiful angels, I had a little poochy tummy -- it wasn't too bad in my younger years but is noticeably larger after having kids. I do not have stretch marks but do have that extra layer of skin that has really kept me from enjoying my body. I am already healthy weight at 125lbs and 5'4" but am looking for a smooth, and shapely mid-section. :-) I will post before and after pics in a couple of days. Wish me luck!

Okay, so I am freaking out here. Surgery is in the morning. I have to be there at 6am and it is a 50 min drive so I will be up bright and early. It is after 11pm and I cannot sleep. Maybe it is the CSI re-runs that are keeping me up. lol. Okay, so here are some 'before' pictures. Hopefully, 12 hours from now I will be out of surgery and my mid-section transformed.

Oops. Accidentally hit post. Wasn't done yet. LOL. Maybe I am loopier than I thought. Hardest part right now is getting up and down off my recliner couch. The surface of the couch is lower than where my bottom needs to go to be seated. My husband has an appointment so he's not here right no but I have an awesome 12 almost 13-year-old that is caring for me. I'm a little apprehensive and worried about going to the bathroom, though. The toilets at my house seem to sit a little low. Not sure how to get on those when I have to go pee which will probably be soon because I've been drinking a lot, and I mean A LOT, of fluids. LOL. Obviously I haven't seen the art work since I am still all wrapped up. But the doc says that everything went super super well and that I will look great. < fingers crossed and prayers to God> He said I have very good skin/dermis elasticity and density. Thanks for the overwhelming support. You guys ROCK!!!! I don't feel alone and I have tons of family and real self friends rallying around me. You don't know how much that means to me. It has given me the confidence to finally share the details of my journey with some close friends whom I have not yet told. :-)

Hi guys, I am super sore but have some good meds. I have figured out how to get up and down without putting too much strain on my tummy. I am still really hunched over but the pain is manageable with medication. I know it is only the 2nd day but as hunched over as I am, I get worried that I won't ever straighten up. I know that is super dramatic but it concerns me. lol. I get up and walk laps around my dining room and living room every couple of hours to keep the blood flowing in my legs. Also had my post op appt this a.m. with the nurse to check out the incision site and sutures and she said everything looks really good. I go back to work on 20 Jul so hopefully I will heal quickly. I will post pics of the incision site soon. Right now I am too scared to take off the binder by myself.

I was too scared to touch anything for several days. I also did the laps around the house the first few days. I am 2 weeks PO and ALMOST able to stand upright, still a little hunched, but each day it eases up a little bit. I've tried to stay as hunched as possible to limit any stress on the suture line, I want to keep that scar narrow, but dang my back is TIRED.
Can't wait to see your results!

Thanks! You give me hope. I walk around all hunched over like a little old lady and am so tempted to try to stand straight but then I chicken out. lol. My biggest fear is going back to work on 20 Jul.

I can only imagine that your back would be tired after two weeks of not straightening it out! Can you actually stand up straighter now and you just don't to keep your suture line from stretching? Do we need to do that?
User Avatar

No, I can't stand straight yet. I read somewhere last night that if we really wanted to we could actually stand straight but that our brains send a message to do it gradually in order to protect us. Very psychological I suppose, but I am a little straighter, just not much. I really won't start to worry about it until day 7 or 8. Today is only day 4.

Makes sense. Just 4 more days to being straight! Lay down more it may make it easier to not be straight when laying down! Good luck.

V88, you look great by the way! We have a lot in common. I had my TT with lipo of flanks on July 2nd and my biggest concern is also going back to work. I go back on July 16th and haven't told anyone at work that I was having this done- so am hoping to stand up straight and not be so swollen that none of my work clothes fit!
