Okay, grab your glass of wine and settle in...

Okay, grab your glass of wine and settle in because my review’s kind of long. Spending an hour to hammer out a positive review about Dr. Kerr and his staff is about the least I can do, as I feel I owe them a LOT. I am so very thankful for them.

I had breast augmentation performed by Dr. Kerr in July 2015. I am 5'6", 110 pounds. I started off as a 32 A cup, and was shooting for a full C cup. We decided on Sientra brand, silicone cohesive gel, high profile, 305 CC implants for both right and left breasts. I wanted to have a BA because my boobs totally shriveled after I stopped taking the pill, (I'd been on it for 13 years and wanted to give my body a break.) I felt pretty masculine and thought getting my boobs back would change that. And boy did they.

From start to finish my experience was FANTASTIC, surprisingly easy, and best of all, is wrapping up beautifully. I’m still healing… I’m only 6 weeks post-op as I write this. I can’t imagine being any more thrilled with the results, thanks to Dr. Kerr. His assistants are lovely and helped make the process a piece of cake. The office is very nice, and spotless, and they were always punctual with my appointments, (a first for a doctor’s office, amiright?) (No offense to any doctors reading this.)

I dealt quite a bit with Dr. Kerr’s personal assistant, Vlasta, and I’m truly bummed that I won’t get to chat with her anymore, since I’m basically done dealing with their office until my next post-op appointment. She’s fun and bubbly, and I loved goofing around with her whenever I’d come in. There was one time pre-op where I started panicking about my decision to move forward with the BA. I emailed her a, “I’m scared, what if I’m making the wrong choice, what if they end up being [RS bleep]-star-huge, what if I croak on the operating table, AHHHH!” freaking out type email, and within 5 minutes she called me and let me vent out my fears. I realize it’s her job to sort of “babysit” us patients, but it’s more than that with her – it’s obvious she has fun at her job, and she actually cares about Dr. Kerr’s clients. She’s not there to do the high pressure sales routine - she’s there because helping people feel better in their skin makes her happy. I never once felt rushed when I spoke with her or met with her. If you are not a good candidate for a particular procedure, I doubt she’d hold back from saying so, (and that goes for Dr. Kerr too.)

On to Dr. Kerr - here’s why I’m confident he’s a great surgeon:
During my doctor search, I studied his credentials, background, and education, (and you should too, because let’s face it: you want the guy/gal who’s hacking your chest open and cramming two foreign objects in there to reeeeeally know exactly what they’re doing, right? If you don’t care about your surgeon’s credentials, then you need to check yo self homie, because even though I personally found my BA to be a walk in the park, this IS very serious surgery.) Anyway, Dr. Kerr’s got an impressive and extensive list of credentials, as you may already know. He’s invested in his education and his practice big time, and I think that shows that he’s passionate about his craft. I also read through his Google reviews, of which there are many. The reviews are ultimately what made me pick him. Slightly going off-topic here, but I promise it’s relevant. One of my jobs many moons ago was to manage online presence for a small law firm. I know a bit about online reviews, and when I saw how many glowing Google reviews Dr. Kerr had, I thought “mmmkay, they must like, give incentives to people to write good reviews, or at the very least, ask their happy clients to leave positive feedback online.” I feel kind of bad for making an assumption like that, because they 100% have never done that to me. NO ONE from his office has ever asked me to write a review, and I never saw any signs in their office saying “like us? Leave us a good review!” or anything like that. This makes me believe that the positive reviews for him on Google are genuine. That’s pretty telling, considering people are more apt to write reviews when they have crap experiences than when they have good ones. Also, notice that he doesn’t have very many Yelp reviews at all? Yeeeeah, Yelp is a total scam, (google ‘Yelp scandal’ to see for yourself), so thank you Dr. Kerr for not paying off Yelp to get positive reviews boosted up for certain search terms. You just keep on collecting your authentic online reviews like a boss.

But I digress. I can only assume Dr. Kerr worked delicately on me during my surgery because I had very little bruising, and my breast fold incisions are neat, small, and have healed insanely quickly. He placed the implants perfectly. Before surgery, he didn’t push a certain size on me, or scoff at me for wanting to stay small-ish and conservative. He was frank with me about what type of implant he prefers to use, and why. I’m very glad I trusted him on his preferences in implant type, as well as implant placement (sub muscular). And the way they turned out… phenomenal. Every time I look at them, it’s like a dream come true. Everybody that’s gotten a boob tour agrees that they are appropriate for my body shape and size, and all agree that they feel and look really natural. I am so happy with them, and have zero regrets about picking Dr. Kerr as my surgeon. He’s pretty much the boob magician, (I really hope that nickname sticks.)

On my Big Day, the nurses in the surgical center (I forget their names, I’m sorry!) were so sweet and kept me company while I waited to go into the OR. When my time came, the entire team greeted me, and we all joked around and had a mini-party as we walked back to the OR. It made a potentially lonely and terrifying experience a happy and celebratory one.

I felt like Dr. Kerr is incredibly reasonably priced. I have other girlfriends that have paid much more for their implants, and they didn’t turn out as lovely as mine did. I realize everyone’s body is different, and maybe I’m just one of the fortunate ones that had a great experience. And everyone will recover differently based on a zillion different factors. But I still think my good results are largely due to Dr. Kerr’s skilled hands.

As far as the recovery has been, here's my experience. I only took a total of 4 pain pills after the surgery. However, I took muscle relaxers to help my chest muscles stretch around the implants for about 2 weeks post op because tightness was more of my issue. Totally understandable and expected though. I experienced pain, but not immense pain, for about a week after surgery. I experienced lots of tightness in my chest for about 5 weeks after surgery. Today is the 6 week mark and I'm now finding that I don't notice the implants anymore, they are just a part of me. When you squeeze them they are nice and soft, and no rippling occurs, nor can you feel the bags. I still occasionally get what I call "cranky boobs" in the mornings, but it's not every morning. Cranky boobs = stiffness and light soreness that goes away if you massage them. I still wear a sports bra at night, although I've been cleared to wear whatever I want. The sports bra just feels nice and supportive, so I wear it. I still massage them whenever I feel like it, because it helps them soften up and it's just fun to feel my new boobs!

So anyway, this was just my personal experience. Not everyone will have as easy of a time as I did - please keep in mind that everyone's body is very different. You'll increase your chances of success by following the pre and post op instructions, (finish off the antibiotics, limit alcohol intake, no smoking, no exercise for 4 weeks post op, eat healthy and increase vitamin intake, etc. etc. etc.)

I’ll wrap this up by saying that Dr. Kerr and his staff made getting a BA not a big deal. I never thought I’d describe a major surgery as “not a big deal,” but seriously, from the appointment settings, to the financials, to the sizings, to the Big Day, he and his staff made it no biggie. They maintain the exact right balance between casualness and professionalism, so that you can feel more at ease, but at the same time, know you’re in very capable hands.

Thanks Dr. Kerr and staff, I love my new boobs!
