19 months post op

I can't believe its been 19 months already!!! Time flies when you're on the flip side!!!
I can't wait to read all your reviews and hear how things have been going in RealSelf world. :)
Just stopping in to share that I'm still LOVING my results and feeling stronger (inside and out) each day.
I'm still working out 5x week (M-F). Weight Training 3x week (recently started doing Bret Contreras "Strong Curves" program), Tracy Anderson or cardio or other option 2x week. I still find that working out is best for me if I tackle it first thing when I wake up - 6am, its the first thing I do, otherwise it doesn't get done.
My husband and I have both been working out from home for almost 2 years, and we recently bit the bullet and converted our garage into a weight gym. That's helped expand both of our exercise routines quite a bit from the options we had before (just using dumbbells and bands, yoga ball, etc.). Now we have a squat rack, barbell, bench, some cables, pull up bar, etc. We're both really enjoying it. It was a big investment, so I'm glad we had both established a consistent workout routine first. Its so nice to have a dedicated workout "space" rather than our guest bedroom! The garage is inevitably warm this time of year, but working out at 6am helps. I don't know if we'll end up installing a small AC unit or if we'll stick it out in the heat - I guess we'll know in August! Ha!
I'm still eating a very low carb/ high fat (nutritional ketosis) LC/HF diet focused on "real" foods: high quality protein sources, veggies, small amounts of berries, nuts/olives/avocados, etc. I've been following this way of eating since March 2017 (8 months prior to my surgery). I still tend to eat 2x day and fast through breakfast. Still taking: collagen, fish oil/vit D combo, multi, CoQ10, occasional magnesium for sleep. I've tried to increase my protein consumption because I felt like my muscle building through weight training was lagging, so I calculated my protein and figured I might not be getting enough to put on significant muscle mass. We've also tried hard to stick with grass-fed meat sources, which can be more expensive but Costco carries many options at a decent price.
My measurements are pretty much all the same. :)
My weight is hovering around 116 these days, but I've been really focusing on lifting, so its not surprising that its a little higher. Hopefully I'm replacing some fat with muscle!
I'm terrible at taking pictures of myself these days, but I snapped a couple before my workout yesterday morning.
We're about to do a 3.5 week trip to SE Asia and I'm SO EXCITED to be feeling strong going into this trip - knowing we can do some big hikes, tramping around cities for hours, etc and my body is healthy and capable. It's an amazing feeling. Not that I couldn't have done it before surgery, but I feel so much more connected to myself and more present - not fussing about what I look like or feeling guilty about what I eat. I feel like I know how to take care of myself in a way I struggled to in early adulthood or sleep-deprived early motherhood. My daughter is so strong and healthy, and I love that she sees both my husband and I taking good care of ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally. While we done a lot of family travel (both domestic and international), this upcoming trip will likely create more culture shock and more eye-opening experiences than some of our previous destinations, so I'm excited to learn and grow together, esp since our daughter is at an age where she can really remember the trip and ask insightful questions, read ahead about the places we're going, etc.
I am grateful everyday for the experience of my surgery and the support the RS provides! Hope everyone is doing AMAZING!!!!

16 months and counting

Hi ladies,
Just popping in for a quick update. I still try to check in to this site when I can, though its a little more sporadic these days. But I still LOVE seeing others in the early part of their journeys and watching all the encouragement that this site provides. :)
I'm 16 months post op and still loving my results every day and feeling so grateful for my body and health.
STATS
Pretty much the same - weight these days is consistently 114lbs, within a half pound either direction. Seems like sometimes I start to hover around 112/113, and then back up to 114 up to 115. [shrug]. I only really weigh myself at this point to note any big directional changes, but I don't anticipate major swings.
Measurements:
Thinnest part of my waist/Just above navel - 26 - 26.5" depending on time of day
Navel - 27 - 27.5"
Hips (at bottom of my vertical scar) - 31 - 32" depending on time of month
Widest part of my body (across buttocks) - 37" consistent
Rib cage/bra band - 27.75 - 28" (no idea why this varies)
Bust - 34" with measurement taught, 34.5" measured looser
Thighs - 21.5 - 22" at the widest part (

It's my first winter completely healed from my MM and I'm loving getting dressed each morning! :)
Things are going well here - I'm still exercising and survived Thanksgiving without falling off my dietary priorities (no sugar/grains). We've been doing a lot of holiday parties and I'm bringing things to each one that I know I can eat/enjoy guilt free. My daughter and I have been making holiday treats for others (and some for her to enjoy), but we also made these sugar-free chocolate peppermint cookies for me to enjoy (https://swervesweet.com/recipes/chocolate-peppermint-snowball-cookies). They are really good!
I hope you ladies have a wonderful holiday season!!! Can't wait to read all your updates! xoxo
