First few days

Almost all pain and not terribly bad, was from the brains..

I went for a tummy tuck and breast reduction...

I went for a tummy tuck and breast reduction (mommy makeover). The best decision of my life. After 3 children my tummy just never went back. I had developed what is referred to an "apron". Very prominent. I also had large heavy breasts (38GG). Dr. Lynum advised that although I didn't really want a reduction per se, my breast tissue was so heavy that if I didn't do a reduction I would be back in 5 years for another lift.

The lift/reduction was fairly uneventful. Very little actual pain (mostly the drains). The downward scar part of the "anchor" is very light and barely noticeable. The underbreast scars are still a little redder but you don't really see them. I can wear an underwire bra comfortably for most of a day. I just flat do not like non-underwire bras. The shaping is pretty good. I do wish I had had a little more conversation with the doctor so my expectations were in line with what the actual outcome was. In other words, the doctor has to work with your body and its original shape to keep you looking natural. I didn't really understand that going into this. I was expecting a fuller upper breast and more centrally placed breast. The result though is satisfactory to me now, but I did go through a period of disapointment and depression over it. Looking back I realize that I didn't have that to begin with and unless I did implants wasn't going to happen. That's what I wish we would have talked about ahead of time. It would have saved me the second guessing.

The tummy tuck also went well. The scar goes from hip to hip and is still pretty red, but since it is pretty much along my bikini line doesn't bother me.
