ORIGINAL POST

Hello all, I have enjoyed reading everyone's...

WORTH IT$6,000
Hello all, I have enjoyed reading everyone's experience on this site and decided to share mine :-) . Well, I am 41 years old, married for 20 years and the proud parents of a 12 year old daughter. I'm 4ft 11inches tall ( yes I'm short). I've never had a flat stomach growing up. My highest weight after the birth of my daughter was 156 pds yes 4'11 carrying that amount of weight I was wearing a size 12 back then and my breast size was a 36ddd. Also, taking blood pressure meds.

In 2007 I decided to get a breast reduction due to the pain it had on my back. I felt so much better after my reduction but all of my focus was now on my tummy since I could finally see it :-) .

Moving on a few years later, I decided to really focus on my weight. I lost a total of 15 pounds a kept it off, for years I managed to stay around the 139-140 weight range but the skin around my tummy did not tone :(. I'm finally off the blood pressure meds:-)

Last year I spent around $1000 on cool scupluting which I saw a little difference but when I wasn't working out 3 times a week the inches came back.

In July of 2012, I decided to start saving up for this procedure since I wanted to pay for it all up front. In February of this year my annual bonus was a lot more than what I expected so I had enough to pay for my procedure:-). Of course my husband was like we can do a lot of things around the house with that money:-). I was like nope I worked hard for this bonus and I'm doing something to make me happy. He is supportive of my decision but doesn't think I need it.

I decided to go with my doctor who performed my breast reduction to perform my tummy tuck. Yes, I had consultations with 4 other doctors but ultimately decided to stick with him. I've referred many friends to him 2 of them he performed a breast reduction and one a tummy which she looks great. I received a few discounts because of my referrals and my previous surgery with him.

Well, my weight is currently 135 pds due to a biggest loser contest we had a work. I am a little fearful being put under with the thoughts of not waking up and the pain aftwrwards but I know God will see me through it.:-)

My procedure is next Tuesday, I am due to arrive at the hospital at 6am surgery at 7:30am, my sister will be taking my daughter to school since my hubby will be with me. I haven't told my mom or other members of my family because I think they will be against me doing this so many of them will find out after the surgery.LOL

During my pre op appointment last week they didn't give me a list of things to purchaseto assist me after surgery only to make sure I gat my meds. So I'm asking for any suggestions on items I would need to purchase to be prepared after surgery:-).

Please pray for me!!!!

I wish you the best of luck! My TT is May 20. I have not bought nearly anything. I was told by my PS to get compresion stockings and wear them 24 hrs 2 days before surgery. Don't take any medicine with out consulting your doctor and Im sorry I'm of not much help but there are great reviews out there with full what to buy lists. I wish you the best! Will be waiting for your update :)

It's not a horrible surgery, though it is a long recovery, but oh so worth it!!!! You have a fabulous body now, you are going to rock a nice tight tummy! WOW! As long as you take your pain meds on a tight schedule, you will be good. Not to say there is no pain, but it is tolerable. And for most, you will start feeling better after about 5 days. Okay, as far as what I needed most right after surgery, cough drops, (which I didn't have right away and were one thing I really needed! Your throat will be very sore afterward. Also, a big cup for ice water and definitely a straw(or several), it's very hard to tip your head back to begin with. Your meds right next to you. Chapstick. Obviously a table for everything. If you don't have someone waking you up for your meds, then an alarm to wake you up. Make sure for the first several days that there is someone with you to help you to the bathroom. This is especially important the first three days. As far as the compression socks, I was given them by my surgeon before surgery. Check with the office to see if they want you to wear them. Oh, and crackers! You want to eat a few before taking your meds. You are going to great and look fantastic! I can't wait to see your afters! Good luck! I'll be thinking about you!

Hi, I am 7 days Post TT Surgery and I can for sure tell you to make sure you get a recliner. I bought a reasonably priced power chair which I think saved my life, since it is extremely hard and painfull getting in & out of bed, up & down to go to bathroom. I first stayed over night at motel since my surgery was a out of town and I can tell you it was difficult getting in & out of bed even with help from my husband. You will be getting in and out often with all the fluids you will be drinking. You probably won't too hungery, but bring water, gator aid, pineapple/juice (for swelling) crackers, vanilla wafers (to eat before taking meds) low sodium soup. You will also need gauze pads, kotex pads work very well too. Good Luck on you up coming surgery to the flat side!
