I had just turned 60 and although most people said I didn't look my age, my face & eyes were really drooping. I grew up in the 70's - we loved dark tans, so I spent a lot of time at the pool covered in baby oil & iodine. In my early 20's I did get serious about good sunscreens and hats to protect my face, but I still could see a significant change in elasticity from 50 to 60 years of age. I taught aerobics for 15 years and I know exercise helped me maintain a youthful look. I don't consider myself vain or narssacistic about my appearance, so I my goal wasn't to look 20 years younger, I just wanted to look good for a 60-year old woman.

You look great and not for a 60 year old woman. Let's go for 45. How did you manage aftercare and the drive to and from surgery - a friend? Are you willing to post a before picture?

yes of course I'll post before pictures, both of my sisters decided to have surgery too, so Lisa (52) actually went first (due to a cancellation in PS schedule. I drove her, we spent the night before surgery, and 2 days after (we got very reduced rates) and the hotel was 5 minutes from his office, drains are removed the next day. We spent another night at the hotel, I kept a journal to track pain meds, had crackers, bananas, pineapple juice to ensure no nausea. Then 4 weeks later, my surgery, my older sister Karen (62) drove me and we followed the same routine. We each had slightly different procedures, Lisa had face & neck & brow lift - Karen had face, neck, and lower eyes, I had face, neck, liposuction to remove fat pocket under my chin, upper & lower eyes.

You will need A wedge pillow, you''re not supposed to lay flat, you also wear an ace bandage 24 hours a day (for your chin)

Definitely doable - thanks so much! I wish I had a sister....

You do need help for a few days, but healing is pretty fast! Good luck.

You look wonderful, very youthful and I agree, elasticity just takes a nose dive after 50.

Thank you so much, I'm very satisfied and so glad I did it. The only other procedure I plan on having is a medium depth facial peel to improve Eliminate sun damage and improve my overall skin texture.

you look great! I am getting a brow, face and neck lift. I am worried about the scars and swelling. I am taking two weeks off from work to recover. We're you able to go in public after two weeks?

I had a death in the family and had to attend a funeral, my face was still puffy, but I wore shade when outside and when we were inside no one really paid attention to me because of the circumstances. I've used bio-oil and massaged my the only scar which was visable (which was under my chin. I'm very pleased and at 61 years of age couldn't be more pleased.

My eyes were swollen shut for 2 days, but I was amazed at how little pain there was. You can see from the picture taken at Christmas how fast healing is. I followed all the rules, did nothing but rest, lay in bed, read and watch TV...no bending, lifting, housework, etc.

Oh you really puffed, you look fabulous. It really is incredible how little pain there is with this surgery.

You look so nice! Did you do lower eyelids too? When did the seelling dissapear?

Yes, I did both upper and lower, it took about 4 weeks for all bruising and swelling to go down. My face took a little longer, but I tend to have a "full" face anyway so I didn't notice it as much.

Thank you so much, the only thing I'd still like to have done is a medium depth peel to improve my complexion and remove slight sun spots.

Great, you won't regret it. Get lots of rest, no lifting. Drink pineapple juice, it speeds healing.
