As swelling has resided, it looks as if I don't have a tip at all. Feeling hopeless to find a doctor that can fix this.
As time has gone by (over a year) my nose has shrunk and looks even worse. Which I never thought would even be possible. I went for a consultation with another doctor and was told I would need to find a doctor that specializes in rib cartilage grafting to fix my nose. It now looks like I don't even have a tip whatsoever. If anyone is interested in seeing before and after images, please feel free to pm me.
Worst Mistake of my Life!
Several years ago I underwent rhinoplasty surgery to improve my nose's minor deficiencies. I had a slope that I loved and only wanted to fix the cartilage that pushed out when my face swelled during a past pregnancy. Dr. Trimas insisted on filling in my slope, telling me it was the only way to get the result I was after. Before undergoing rhinoplasty, I felt attractive. After was a nightmare I still have to cope through every day.
I paid $6,000 for my original surgery and came out with a pollybeak effect, that addressed none of my concerns and only left me with a humped nose. Dr. Trimas made me wait over a year to "clean out the scar tissue" that he blamed for the effect. When that didn't improve my nose, Dr. Trimas then tried blaming the issue on the way I smiled, which he claimed was "different than before". He finally agreed with me about the issue when I agreed to pay $3,000 more for another surgery. For the additional cost, he reduced the size of the hump he gave me and instead of giving me back my slope, he decreased the tip to be flush with the rest of the nose. Somehow, I have ended up with a lop sided nose and crooked nose, elongated looking tip, uneven nostrils and the excess skin from reducing the hump has gathered above the tip. I believe a portion he tried to save on the tip has also shifted. Dr. Trimas has never really listened to what I wanted and basically does whatever he thinks is best.
My nose has completely altered the way my face looks and when I see a picture taken of me, It takes me several weeks to stop feeling emotional about my appearance. I don't even look like the same person. So much that, before updating the image on my license, one cashier had to get her manager to review my ID because she believed it wasn't me. Not only do I look horrible, hide from pictures (and society as much as possible), but I have also become very depressed about life. I feel hopeless about ever fixing my appearance.
I feel like trusting Dr. Trimas only left me too far gone to ever look like the person I used to be again and that feels devastating. My face is so terrible compared to my appearance before this procedure and Dr. Trimas sees no issue with the problems he has created for me. His receptionist was also incredibly rude when I expressed my concerns. Unless you are paying more money, no one seems to care and Dr. Trimas is never accountable for his errors. I would never recommend rhinoplasty with Dr. Trimas unless it is a very straight forward and minor procedure. My surgery has turned out to be the worst mistake of my life and I will NEVER be the same again!
