still unhappy with results. my breathing has not improved since before surgery it is just as bad as when my septum was deviated. every night my nose gets so dry i can’t breath when i wake up even though i use Vaseline. it feels like there is still a blockage and swelling is not going anymore down. 2 month appointment next week. pretty bummed and super upset :(

Just give it another month, I’m sure it’s just swelling, did u ask for more of a sloped nose?? I’m sure if that’s what u wanted that’s what he did it’s probably just swelling
I agree with Teny, wait to see if it will go down. Maybe the 3-6 month mark. I think he tends to do sloped as his baseline and I didn't request for anything in particular and he gave me a slight slope, slight upturned tip which initially I was against but do like the result. I was more worried about the septoplasty and complicated calcified capsular contracture removal of my old implants so am bummed that I cannot breathe right now through my nose 6 days out but I figure that is normal, also my new implants are amazing so my confidence in him went up. He put attention to detail to avoid having to do a lift. My nose actually looks like a similar but improved version to my before, which relieved me as I wanted to maintain my Sicilian/Mexican traits. Based on his previous work on people I know IRL is why I chose him, he does do good, albeit predictable and very similar, noses. He is a cookie-cutter type of doctor who will give you a particular look but they are good noses. I don't feel he does "custom" noses if that makes sense and maybe that look wont work for everyone. My friend did implants with him years ago when he was still starting out and the people I use for fillers refer to him for rhinoplasty as he's done all of theirs. I interned my clinicals for nursing at VHH back when he did surgery there and could see the roster of surgeries and can attest to his many, many procedures he does on a daily. My concern would be of him getting fatigued and making errors but experience is something he has. His rate of failures are probably very, very low statistically. I would continue to be patient as it does actually look really nice for your face and could potentially be just swelling. I know this healing process sucks. When is your follow up? Maybe you'll need a steroid shot? Is your breathing okay? I hope this journey continues to improve for you.
I was miserable for the first 3 months. The first month I still had bruises under my eyes and my face was swollen. The sixth month I said to my husband that I am being to like my nose. Unfortunately it takes a long time to heal.
Can you please post recent pics
Totally my subjective opinion, but I like the current result better than the expected result. I think the slope looks really unnatural, but the current results look really good.

While I can't speak to the hard object between your eyes... Did nobody explain to you beforehand that the front view was going to look wider? Your profile already looks way nicer than before, and any good surgeon will have told you that it takes 6 months to a year for your nose to settle into the shape it's going to be. I know it's hard to wait, but you really can't make an accurate judgement right now. This is just part of the process, so don't get discouraged. If you chose him because he was a good surgeon, then trust what he's told you until it's been at least a year and things are no different or worse. He's got a lot more experience than you do. Looking at the Q & A's for rhinoplasty may help put your mind at ease. Interested to see how the shape continues to change as time passes :) Good luck!
yes that was explained. however i was under the impression it would be equal. not further out on one side. if you see me in person it is obvious the right side is sticking out much more. i also never understood it would be MUCH wider on my radix. i was told it would be where the hump on my nose was that would be wider. which i would be okay with. I really do hope the sides even out over time & whatever bone or object in my nose goes where it’s supposed too because I do not want another surgery.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know I ended up with a wider radix on the right side as well. Same doctor. Plus other issues. Seeing the same problem in your pictures honestly makes me angry for you and brings back the disappointment I felt when I first realized my nose issues weren't going away. I think this result is preventable, and I'm sorry we got the short end of the stick here. He obviously must have a great eye since he does beautiful surgery on so many people, yet some of us seem to only get half-hearted effort. Maybe he was rushed, tired, or otherwise distracted when operating on us, but it sucks that we have to pay the price.
I totally see what you are talking about. Did he tell you before hand about the spreader grafts? (Sorry if you mentioned it before) I understand about being patient for the end results but it sucks if you didn't know before hand.
no he did not. he still has not mentioned them to me. he said what i am feeling is my bone.
So he never mentioned them? What makes you believe they're spreader grafts? That is my biggest concern. I don't want to have spreader grafts at all and he never mentioned them in the pre op. I read a review on another site that he did put grafts in without prior knowledge to the patient.
Actually, I looked around a bit and it seems he does them often as he believes it prevents collapse or roof deformity or something along those lines. I guess I will see what happens.
he does them because of the technique he uses. he never mentioned them to me but if you read the paperwork it is included that he will use them if he feels like he needs too. after reviewing my surgical report he did use them. it just feels very odd to me for it to be my bone. it is only on onesies and it is long and thin. which is exactly what the spreader graphs are.
*only on one side
Has the bumb on the side gone away yet?? Or is it still there?? He kinda gave me a bumb as well I’m so frustrated
nope still there :(
Wow that sucks :/ I have my follow up tomorrow I’m gonna see what he says about mine
how long has it been since your surgery?
Two months!
oh man. let me know what happens pls. my next appointment is in May
I’ll let you know! And my nose is still so wide D: he told me I have thick skin tho so it’s going to take longer for the swelling to go down so I’m just trying to patiently wait
he told me it was my bone and i will get more narrow over time. i have no thick skin at all. i’m just so bummed because my nose was perfect before i just had a bump i wanted shaved down. he told me he would not touch the width because it was already perfect then i end up like this. ugh
Hopefully it goes away, I wish I did my research before I chose him cuz I’ve found so many bad reviews :/
ice it! it reduces blood vessel congestion and swelling!
I just got back from my follow up, he showed me that the bump is just swelling, he pushed down on my nose and I saw that it was just swelling and once it goes down it’s going to be so small and just now I pictured it to be I feel so relieved!!! I’m sure your bump is just swelling as well!
wow you got lucky! mine is hard as a rock :( i think he used spreader graphs too big or they became misplaced. glad things went well for you!!
Mine use to be hard too, but as time went by it got a little softer but it’s still swollen, I’m relieved now that I know it’s just swelling! He offered steroid injections or he said I could just wait for it to naturally go down so I chose naturally.. how long ago was ur surgery?
sorry i just saw this but it has been 1 month & 5 days. i added an update below this with pictures of how it looks vs. what i was expecting
How are you feeling now? Do you feel a difference or see a difference? I just had surgery yesterday morning.
yes some of the swelling has gone down but over all my nose is still not what i expected. i posted an update below this with how my nose looks now vs what i was expecting
