3 1/2 Month Post-Op Update with Dr. G

I had my 1st visit with Dr. G since my rhinoplasty surgery. I told him my concerns about how wide and bulbous my nose looks from the front, and a little unevenness from the sides. He said that I am still at 70% swelling and I'm healing very well. He repeated what he has told me from the beginning, that my thick skin takes longer to get final results. He said by the 2 year mark I will see much improvement. He said I may still see slight changes by the 3rd year. That's a long time! He said the middle of my bridge will narrow a little more and the tip will narrow much more, as well as shrink down.
I asked him about steroid injenctions and he said that he wouldn't do that until the 18 month mark, but he also said that he doesn't think I will need them because my nose is healing good. That made me feel a little better.
So since I have to wait 2 to 3 years, I'm gonna start learning how to contour :)

3 Month Update

I hit 3 months post op and am still happy overall with the results. My nose still seems very swollen and I don't love my front view as much as my profile. For me, most of my swelling went down within the first two months. I don't see much difference at the third month mark. I have heard and read that my thick skin delays final results so I have to be patient. Does anyone with thick skin have pictures of their progression? I'd love to see them.
I have noticed that my nose looks different in different types of lighting. I added a comparison of pictures I took on the same day, but nose looks different. The photos on the left were taken outside and the photos on right were taken inside.
My nose is still tender and hurts if I accidentally bump it while getting dressed or kissing my kids goodnight, but feels better each week. I can breath pretty good now and the scars at my base are starting to blend in.
I have a 3 month post op doctor visit on Feb. 24th and am going to ask about steroid injections.

Overall rating

Dr. Grigoryants has been very professional, nice and informative. He was upfront with honest expectations. He did not show an ounce of arrogance (like other surgeons did), nor did he try to pressure me into going through with the procedure. I love my new nose so far, and can't wait for the final results!
