3 1/2 Month Post-Op Update with Dr. G

WORTH IT$11,500
I had my 1st visit with Dr. G since my rhinoplasty surgery. I told him my concerns about how wide and bulbous my nose looks from the front, and a little unevenness from the sides. He said that I am still at 70% swelling and I'm healing very well. He repeated what he has told me from the beginning, that my thick skin takes longer to get final results. He said by the 2 year mark I will see much improvement. He said I may still see slight changes by the 3rd year. That's a long time! He said the middle of my bridge will narrow a little more and the tip will narrow much more, as well as shrink down.
I asked him about steroid injenctions and he said that he wouldn't do that until the 18 month mark, but he also said that he doesn't think I will need them because my nose is healing good. That made me feel a little better.
So since I have to wait 2 to 3 years, I'm gonna start learning how to contour :)

thank you. I feel very self conscious about my front view right now so it's hard to feel pretty. I am hopeful that the swelling will continue to go down.

I was very discouraged by the time I went to see Dr. G because a very high end rhinoplasty surgeon told me there was not much he could do for my nose. This dr is supposed to be one of the very best so when he said my nose was to complicated and skin was very thick, I was very sad. When I saw Dr G I didn't take any pictures with me. I just told him I wanted a feminine nose and asked if it was possible. he said it was but would take 18 months to a year to get that because of my skin type and work needed. I just hit 3 months and feel like 2 years is so long to wait but I have to just wait and see. My family says it looks 100 times better than what I had so that makes me feel good.

Thank you so much for the pictures. I really need a difference for my nose job, just hope it's not subtle.

I hope that I can post a picture a year from now and have the nose I've been envisioning, and I can look back and see a drastic before and after. I can't wait til the swelling goes away completely.

3 Month Update

I hit 3 months post op and am still happy overall with the results. My nose still seems very swollen and I don't love my front view as much as my profile. For me, most of my swelling went down within the first two months. I don't see much difference at the third month mark. I have heard and read that my thick skin delays final results so I have to be patient. Does anyone with thick skin have pictures of their progression? I'd love to see them.
I have noticed that my nose looks different in different types of lighting. I added a comparison of pictures I took on the same day, but nose looks different. The photos on the left were taken outside and the photos on right were taken inside.
My nose is still tender and hurts if I accidentally bump it while getting dressed or kissing my kids goodnight, but feels better each week. I can breath pretty good now and the scars at my base are starting to blend in.
I have a 3 month post op doctor visit on Feb. 24th and am going to ask about steroid injections.

I also went to Dr. G and am almost 8 months post op but still feel my nose looks big :( he says I have thick skin and to wait a year, I'm praying I'm happy with the outcome. how did your 3 month appt go? did he do the steroid injection? I consider asking him as well. thank you so much for bringing us along your journey! x
